Beautiful colonial house loaded with books and old furniture. I adored it. Excellent breakfast! Great escape from dirty streets and sqares of Trinidad crowded with tourist (too many!) The owner is really nice and likes to talk about the interesting history of the house and his family.

You needn't look any further, this is the place to be: the beautiful house (sometimes visited by a guided tour) itself is used by the owner, the clean, large rooms are next to a beautiful courtyard with several bird cages, you can access a terrace on the second floor which is also a very nice 'mirador', tasty breakfast each morning,... We had an amazing stay of a few days in this casa. The owner was very nice, helpful and could speak english. The room was very large and clean with AC, but everything is a bit rusty (last renovation before the revolution?) Nevertheless it has great charme, also due to the amazing courtyard with different birds and fruits. The location... More

As other reviews mention it, the Mauri family has a long tradition in Trinidad. The host Miguel is very friendly and is happy to explain you some interesting history facts about the city and his family. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend you going! We loved Trinidad so don't miss it!

It was a pleasure to stay at Casa Mauri and enjoy the hospitality of Miguel Senior and his son, Miguel. We really enjoyed the time we have had there, the Casa is located close to Trinidad landmarks and the "night district" so to speak. Hosts are very friendly and interesting people and eager to help on various things. The patio... More

You cannot meet real Cubans unless you sleep in their house and eat their food. Miguel, his wife and dad, and the Hostal staff were professional, pleasent and friendly. Four of us (two seasoned middle-aged traveller couples) stayed a few nights at Casa Mauri and enjoyed every minute of it. Very tall ceilings, comphy beds, spacious bathrooms and functioning fans... To make a long story short... This casa could be a wonderful place which I normally would have rated with 4 points... Good breakfast, wonderful courtyard with lots of birds and plants, central location. However, we had two big pain points: 1.) After 1 night we asked in the morning for a 3rd one, which was agreed by Miguel jun.... More
