The casa is located on the second floor of a restaurant. The rooms are adequate. However, the beds are small for 2 people. The casa is situated ideally for visits by foot to the historical center. Showers are sometimes warm, but generally vary in temperature. Breakfast is very good, with yoghurt, fresh fruit and juice a choice of eggs and... More

Really really enjoyed staying at this Casa. The rooms are palatial compared to so many casas in Cuba. Breakfast on the terrace is so good and there are great views of Trinidad from the top terrace. We paid around 30CUCs per night and then 5CUC per person for breakfast. It wasn't the cheapest Casa we had stayed in but it... More

This Casa is more like a hostel as it has four rooms and a restaurant downstairs. The location is great as it is a two-min walk to the main square. The owner, Nelson, also has another Casa nearby. On arrival we were welcomed by a friendly Nelson who took our details. We never saw Nelson again. One room only had... More

Just spent four nights at Casa Nelson in room #1 and #4. The rooms are clean and spacious, the beds are a bit hard but other than that had no complaints. The Casa has a beautiful rooftop terrace that overlooks the city and is awesome to hang out on to watch the sunset or relax in the cool evening breeze... More

Hostal Nelson would be lovely, if it wasn't situated above a restaurant where you can hear the staff working til the early hours of the morning. I stayed here with my family and took up 3 of the upstairs rooms. One of them was directly above the restaurant barbecue and therefore became very hot and smelly. Luckily one of the... More

We stayed 5 nights having selected it on the basis of Trip Advisor reviews as part of a Cuba Direct organised tour. (Our choice not theirs) Positives: very central, nice roof terrace, good size room (no 1), friendly waiting and cleaning staff, attached restaurant good (by Cuban standards), 20% discount on lobster and drinks for residents Negatives: beds very hard,... Hostel Neslon is quite big for a case, but it's a great place to stay. Very clean, with a splendid breakfast with cheese, ham, bread, coffee, fruit and this wonderful solid marmelade they make in Cuba. The terrace gives you a great view over Trimidad and the shower was always hot and working. Good place, five minute walk to the... More

The Hostal is in the historic cobbled centre of Trinidad about 100 yards up from the coach centre. The rooms upstairs are spacious and have good quality Cuban "antique furniture". The roof terrace provides an excellent view over Trinidad. The dining rooms are elegant. The food is really good and the service is excellent. All staff are helpful and friendly... More

We, by accident, ended up staying here for 8 nights in December 2014. First room wasn't the best but got moved to the largest one (top of stairs on the right) for last 6 nights. Spacious room, decent bathroom with satisfactory water pressure on the shower, a rarity in Cuba but still no sink plug! Bizarre. Staff fairly friendly. Food... More
