The location of this small resort outside Holguin is excellent, the views are spectacular, out towards the mountains and over the valley below, but, unfortunately, that is just about where the positives end. The pool area is pleasant and busy during the day with local families but the rooms are decidedly poor. Ours was dirty, there were lightbulbs missing and... More

The Mirador de Mayabe was on an attractive site with a swimming pool and friendly staff, but the whole catering system was dire. The menu is limited and during out stay was made even more so by the absence of the published chicken, prawns, salad (only cucumber), fruit and finally, on two days, there was even an absence of bread.... Its a really relaxing place to go. They remodel the pool, painted all around & added swings to the bar area, i don't recommend eating at the bar, they usually have chicken , & fries, or pork steaks, nothing to die for & not worth the money, I would say pay for the entrance which I think it might be... I always stay in private houses in Holguin city but I visit Villa Mirador de Mayabe occasionally with Cuban friends for lunch or a beer. The prices are reasonable, the staff are friendly, and the pool has a great view. On Sunday mornings, hundreds of people bring their motorcycles and go-karts out to the race track just below Mirador de... More

Stuck on top of Mayabe hills some 8km out of town, the hotel is known for two things. The first are the views across the valley and the second is a resident donkey that enjoys drinking the local beer. Although both are ok for a quick visit, the rooms although spacious for Cuba are uninviting and the restaurant is forgetable.... More

I never stayed at this hotel overnight but during my stay in Holguin I visited this place several times with my cuban friends. The pool is clean, spacious, and overall pretty nice. The best part of this hotel is it's location. It is located on a top of a hill, in the countryside of Holguin overlooking a lush tropical forest.... More

Arrived at the hotel 'round midnight after a late flight from Montreal. My first impression was, "is anybody home?". A darkly lit reception handled my reservation and I was swiftly escorted to my digs. I did pass a couple of cabins with some racket emanating from them but for the most part, it was near ghost-townish-like. The room was a... More

We stayed at the Hotel Mirador de Mirabe on the outskirts of the city of Holguin, on top of a hill, with sweeping views over the valley below. 24 air-conditioned rooms and swimming pool. Again a strange Cuban hotel, but tobe fair we only stayed one night and there was bad weather around Its main selling point appears to be... More
