I normally wouldn't stay in this hotel, because it's a residential location and there is no public transportation nearby. I ended up there because it was the only available hotel during the capitol siege, and I was there for work. I have to give the hotel credit for their professionalism in handling the maga crowd, but apart from that there is not much I can say about the hotel in general. They assigned me a horrible room that overlooks some desolate rooftop, but it was spacious and the bed was comfortable. What really irritated me was the 25 dollar daily resort fee. The resort fees are a Miami Beach or Vegas scam, but at least they have some real amenities like a pool or a beach. This hotel, I'm told, charges for 1- enhanced cleaning 2- phone calls 3- concierge 4- 24-hour gym 5- in-room Nespresso machine. I don't even know if the gym was open due to covid restrictions, but I know I didn't even request housekeeping service and there was nothing "enhanced" about cleaning protocols. A guest already expects enhanced cleaning protocol regardless of covid. In room Nespresso machine? Phone calls? A concierge? They must be joking... Especially the concierge--what good does it do under curfew? Even the hotel restaurant was closed after 9 pm, couldn't even get room service. This is a total scam. I will never stay in this hotel again and wish for its demise.…
The aesthetic of the hotel is beautiful, mid-century modern with church-themed elements. You can easily identify that the building was formerly a church. This was a prime location for exploring Adams Morgan during our staycation. My complaints were with the staff. At check-in, we were given minimal information about the hotel, amenities, and procedures. Around 7:15 am, we were woken up by the cleaning staff in the hallway, who were yelling loudly to one another. Additionally, the room above us was being vacuumed prior to 8:00 am. We ate at Brothers and Sisters, the on-site restaurant. The food was delicious. However, my party did feel somewhat neglected by the waiter, who didn’t attend to us for 20+ minutes and then proceeded to close our bill without asking if we’d like to order more drinks or food. This occurred less than an hour into our dining experience.…
Our reservation was the day after the insurrection at the capitol. I called on that day to see what my cancellation options were. Kenny answered and assured me that the hotel had only a handful of existing reservations and that hotels in the area were not accepting new reservations on the day of our check in. Further, he gave us an extended window to cancel if we did not feel safe. This was generous and not something he had to do, so we very much appreciated this flexibility. We ended up going to DC anyways because the trip was for an elopement, and Kenny arranged for us to have the 4-person ceremony on 2nd floor, exclaiming "I just love love!". This was cute and made us smile underneath our masks. It was all in all an incredible experience that I will never ever ever forget. Kenny went the extra 500 miles for us and it was an extra bright day during an exceptionally dark week because of him. The Line DC will always be special to me and new husband.…
We stayed at The Line DC for a total of 4 nights. We loved the modern aesthetic of the hotel in the heart of Adams Morgan. The room was beautiful, and very comfortable - especially the bed. Only one block away from delicious restaurants so you can walk to anything from Ethiopian, to Italian to giant slices of pizza. Mostly, I can't say enough about the staff - we had unexpected changes in our travel which extended our stay, after checking out, and they got us our original room. The hotel was clean and staff was always wearing a mask. I can't wait to come back on our next visit to DC.
What a lovely hotel. It far exceeded our expectations. The common areas are gorgeous and our corner room was just lovely. We had a delicious dinner through room service. The lobster risotto was terrific. in the morning we enjoyed the coffee bar and Japanese breakfast. Our dog had a wonderful time too and was very welcome. We would happily return and recommend to others.
