Our stay began with confusion over which room we were assigned. I specifically paid a premium and booked a room with 2 beds (which are hard to find in DC) and was offered a suite with a king and a pull out at check-in - not what I booked. It got sorted out and we got the room with 2 beds, as expected. The room is tiny and shows significant signs of wear (wallpaper peeling, paint cracked, furniture beat up). The bathroom has no fan, which is bizarre, had to leave the bathroom window cracked. Had to order all food via DoorDash, as hotel restaurant had a very limited menu, with virtually no options for my vegan travel companion. There are very limited options for food in the area due to COVID closures. Overall it was a fine stay, considering the COVID state of the world, but we are unlikely to stay at the Hamilton in the future.

Hotel's Favourite
I had a stay here during a major event in DC with heightened security - the manager at the Hamilton Hotel, Mark D., did a great job of contacting me personally in advance to make sure I had all of the information and resources I needed. He even provided his cell phone and was very attentive before my arrival. Staff on arrival was helpful and courteous as well. I received texts also from the front desk staff asking if anything else I needed. The room itself was clean, had a great view, comfortable and provided a great night's rest during a hectic week. The elevators require keycards, providing additional security for guests. It was a very convenient location as well for my event needs and close to my company's HQ. Would definitely have this high on my list for a future stay in more normal times based on this experience.

The Hamilton Hotel is a jewel in the heart of Washington, DC. This historic venue is gorgeous and the rooms are picture perfect! I truly regret not taking pictures of my room as it was simply stunning. The lush linens and pillows made me never want to leave the bed - while the bathroom was even more alluring! It was sparkling clean and very luxurious. The staff was perfect and always pleasant. I was treated with the ultimate care when I arrived and departed and always had friendly greetings during my stay. I highly recommend this treasure of a hotel.
