A warm, wonderful guest home in a quiet, cozy residential neighborhood near Rock Creek Park. Off-street parking is available. IGH is more hostel than B&B: communal bathroom for men and women, 11pm curfew, etc. We stayed on the 3rd floor [no elevator] in a room for couples [twin beds]. The room was spotless, as was the entire facility. Bathrooms impeccable....

I stayed for a week--from a Sunday to a Sunday. Everyone there is warm and welcoming and has a wealth of information about the neighborhood. It's so beyond reasonably priced, that I can't fathom why it's not booked solid years out ($45/night. Do the math--7 nights here is equal to 1 night in a name brand DC hotel). A former...

There aren't too many places I visit where I feel at home. That's no fault of the proprietor as such establishments are typically hotels where guests come and go. I visited the International Guest House in January 2015 and was personally greeted by the volunteer on duty that evening. I was personally escorted to my room after being given a...

My 13 y.o. daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights while we visited DC. The hosts are very welcoming and made our stay peaceful and comfortable. We really enjoyed the evening tea time and morning breakfast where we met other travellers from around the globe. Having this worldy experience was a terrific bonus to our educational visit to DC....

I stayed here for 3 nights. There weresome interesting people there, both tourists and those staying longer in Washington. The hosts were very including and welcoming. In the morning we got a good breakfast which was included in the prize. In the evenings there was tea and cookies (home made), it was a really good way to sit down and...

A warm, wonderful guest home in a safe and convenient neighborhood. Off-street parking is available. This is more like a hostel than your typical B & B. There is a communal bathroom for men and for women, a curfew of 11 pm (which is flexible), no food allowed in rooms, etc. Nonetheless, the International Guest House is a delightful experience....

A Quiet Respite in Bustling DC.....A home away from home, meeting people from all over the world, the staff, cleanliness and the evening music and tea are just a few noteworthy comments. There is a great park nearby and bus transportation to downtown DC. Highly recommend.

I spent the last weekend at the International Guest house and had a blessed time. Every night the host ring the bell and you have the opportunity to chat with the other guest but of course you are not supposed to do it. Instead of sitting in the living room you could've gone downstairs to hang out in the well-appointed...
