We loved everything about this hotel. Great location. We arrived early and were told our room was ready and we could check in. Score. They were helpful with guidance around the city. They remembered us each time we passed the desk and asked about our day. The room was small but clean and doable. They texted us to see if we needed anything. Kristina went above and beyond. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great location -easy walking distance to Gallery Metro, American Art Museum/Portrait Gallery and multiple restaurants. Incredibly helpful and knowledgeable staff. Hotel evening bar is pleasant and breakfast coffee bar is as well. Minimalist rooms are charming, contemporary and well designed. Will definitely return.

My husband and I stayed overnight and were more than pleased with MOTTO location, cleanliness, safety and staff. Martin was welcoming, professional and informative during check in and check out. The building was secure and safe. Conveniently located across the street from the metro and in walking distance to the museums we visited. The hotel was beautifully decorated and everything was super clean. The rooms are tiny but efficient, all you really need when visiting DC. The queen size bed comfy and the sheets and pillows soft. The reason for our visit was to see a band at the 9:30 Club. We took the metro to the club but the show ended too late to ride back. It was a straight, mile walk back to hotel and we didn’t feel sketched out on our journey.

First of all the staff was amazing!! Hellen, Kristina and Alexandra were very pleasant and accommodating. The hotel is very conveniently located across the street from the Gallery Place metro stop, which makes it very easy to get around the city. There is a nice rooftop bar, a whiskey bar in the basement and a fairly priced coffeeshop in the lobby area. Also, they will store your bags if you have a late flight or train home and want to see a bit more of the city before you leave.

When we go to DC for shows we want a place to stay that is within walking distance of the theatre and is not going to break the bank, but clean, comfortable and friendly. Motto fits the bill perfectly. The staff on the desk is friendly and helpful. The rooms, though small, are well-appointed and have lots of places to stash your belongings. This was our second stay here and we would recommend it to anyone visiting DC.

Stayed in a corner room, 3rd floor. No street or neighbor noise. Great food choices nearby. Easy walk to museums, metro, parking garage. Motto staff members Marco and Martin were especially helpful and courteous. Marco went out of his way to find ice and decaf coffee for me.

I had no idea what to expect, and I’m so happy I chose Motto. I think the best part was Martin, super helpful if I ever needed something. Kristina and Jessica also very kind. I don’t usually write reviews but traveling alone was a lot of stress, and they made me feel like they got me if I needed anything. Felt super safe and loved being able to walk anywhere I needed and all very close to my conference, and great dining. Thanks again guys, will definitely be back!

The concierge was the best service we got from the hotel. The rooms are extremely small, with no room to put your luggage and forget it if you trying to work from there, no desk, You can get an ice machine in any hotel, but not in this one no ice machine on any floor. Don’t count on a good breakfast on a weekday, your only choices are coffee muffins and supermarket bagels, they sell full breakfast on weekends 99% of the ti I give good reviews but this one is almost impossible if you trying to be in a good room.

Hello Alex, I am truly sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay at Motto DC. We are a new concept and unfortunately it is not fit for every traveler. I would love to discuss the issues you encounter regarding information that may have been missed. For example, our front desk staff should have informed you that ice can be picked up from the front desk, same thing with luggage racks which can be provided upon request. I can be reached at tjones@modushotelsdc.com.Look forward to hearing from you. Terrell Jones Assistant Front Office Manager

Everyone here was very kinda. Christina was very kind and helped me when I was locked out of my room (forgot my key). Helen and Ishobel were welcoming with both Check-In and checkout along with greeting me each time I came or left the hotel. Id highly recommend the hotel for its location, walking distance to many of the museums and historic sites, along with everyone in the hotel. The rooftop bar also has an amazing view of the surrounding area.

Stayed here for a night to see Florence + the Machine with a girlfriend. Terrell checked us in and was so charming, witty and informative! He had wonderful suggestions for nightlife and made sure any and all questions were answered. That man deserves a raise! Hotel was beautiful and clean. Would absolutely stay again!
