We stayed in Washington DC for a few days at this hotel after doing a previous one day stopover 2 years ago and have to give it a '5 star review'. Everything about the hotel from our arrival to departure was fantastic and the location...More
We had several problems with this place. They've trained their doormen and receptionists to keep up an incessant chatter, which is a particular problem when you've just gotten off a plane and simply want to go to your room and sleep. The room we were...More
Our room was small, but luxurious and extremely clean. We had an excellent breakfast in the hotel restaurant and equally good late night snack and drinks in the hotel bar. The staff is friendly and professional. The location is in walking distance of all the...More
Perfect location. A 5 minute walk to the whitehouse and all the other dc landmarks. Expensive but you save money on traveling. Everything you want to see is walking distance. Sat night make sure you reserve for dinner
During our one night stay everything was just perfect, ie reception procedure, dining, valet parking. The hotel's restaurant is just great. The food is cooked with passion and you can feel it during eating. For any kind of requests you don't wait at all -...More

Depends on your idea of walking distance, but I would say yes. The National Mall is about 4.5 blocks south. The museums start at 14th and go east to 3rd street. So that's about 11 blocks from the African-American History museum to the American Indian Museum with a good 5-6 museums between. If you plan it out you can hit them all in a weekend. The monuments are in the opposite direction for about an equal distance.

Yes, we walked everywhere and never used a taxi or the Metro. It is definitely within walking distance of the Smithsonian Museum of American History, the African American Museum, the Holocaust Memorial. It is very close to the White House. We walked all the way to the US Capitol building (that is a long walk) and another day we walked to the Lincoln Memorial (another long walk). The hotel is very conveniently located.
