Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Watergate Hotel receives accolades for its spacious rooms, which not only provide comfort and cleanliness but also offer breathtaking views, though guests have noted occasional maintenance concerns. Its prime location near the Potomac River and Georgetown, along with a range of praised amenities like a luxurious spa and a well-equipped gym, contribute to its appeal. While the retro-futuristic decor adds to the hotel's stylish atmosphere, some travelers express reservations about the value, citing steep prices for services that sometimes fall short of expectations. Despite this, the staff's exceptional service is a highlight for guests.

Yab was amazing. Super tour. Best yet in Washington. The hotel is a lot of fun as well. Lots of memorabilia and original news clippings. It was neat to be in the actual space where it happened and seems implausible because of very inept spy decisions and primitive technology

Hotel's Favourite
We chose the Watergate Hotel for our 50th Wedding Anniversary because we had spent our 5/12/73 wedding night in Room 1011 of the then infamous (Nixon, Watergate hearings, political history) hotel. We asked specifically for room 1011 for our 50th, and it was set aside for us. Check-in was warm, efficient, and congratulatory. The associate, Ahmed, even showed enthusiastic interest in the vintage (1973) bill and room service menu that we brought to the hotel for its archives. A lovely bowl of fruit and a plate of tasty macaroons along with a thoughtful handwritten note from Hotel Director of Rooms Matthew Deudne greeted us in our room. The views of the river, Roosevelt Island, Harbour, Georgetown University, and sunset were spectacular. The Top of the Gate late night views of the Watergate, Kennedy Center, sparkling lights of Key Bridge and Georgetown, river, and Venus in the skies capped off the wonderful day. The next morning our brunch at Kingbird was just as charming with a warm welcome by the restaurant manager (from the Netherlands), the professional wait staff, and the thoughtful complimentary key lime dessert with a chocolate *Happy Anniversary" plaque and prosecco. When we left, the cheerful doorman brought my husband a chair while we waited for the valet. We were thrilled with every special touch during our perfect visit.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Watergate Hotel. From the moment I entered the property the staff members were very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are comfortable with nice bathrooms. The beds are really comfortable. I enjoyed the luxurious robe and complimentary slippers. The swimming pool is beautiful and has an adjacent sauna and hot tub. When I visited the hot tub was not as hot as a typically desire. The locker rooms are nice with private showers and a great steam room. The majority of lockers need to be replaced or repaired as the locking mechanism was not working on most of them. The fitness club is very good for a hotel fitness room. I travel fairly often and many fitness rooms are limited. The Watergate Hotel's fitness room has free weights, cardio and plenty of machines. Plus a good stretching/yoga room. I spent a few hours in the spa/locker room/pool areas and really enjoyed the experience. I will visit this fine hotel again in the future.

We loved it! Really nice room and river view, great breakfast, staff was excellent. Pool is kid friendly and fun. Easy walk to Georgetown and quick Uber to anywhere else. Definitely not a “curb appeal” spot but the interior is really nice, and it worked well for kids with the pool and breakfast options.

From the time I entered the door the staff was so welcoming that I felt like I was coming home. The warmth felt authentic...like they really appreciated that you chose the Watergate Hotel. A shout out to Bernel Justice at the front desk. I rarely take time to give reviews, unless it's really exceptional service/experience. After a long travel day it was a pleasure to have Bernel taking care of me. He got me checked in quickly and off to my room. BTW, the rooms are lovely and spacious. I'll be back on my next visit to D.C.

I came to Washington DC for the politics and The Watergate for the history. What I found was modern-day comfort amid the seventies infamy. And delightful staff only too happy to help a political need from Australia sate his curiosity. Bernel took me into 'the room where it happened while another gentleman (name escapes me, sorry) took me and my friend up onto the roof for a great view (the rooftop bar being otherwise closed this time of year. Kay and Judit helped make it happen. Thanks everyone, for making a highlight of my trip to the US. Oh, and dinner at Kingbird was delicious. I'll be back!

This legendary hotel did not disappoint! A balcony room overlooking the river was perfect for a quick weekend getaway. The bonus was unseasonably warm temperatures in the 50's and 60's. Rest assured at the first opportunity, it was a must have an extra dry martini, up, with extra olives at the Next Whiskey Bar. Although the wait for service was a bit longer than expected considering the light crowd, the martinis were perfect. Room service, such a rare indulgence, was a welcome treat. I packed so much into this weekend stay it was nice to lounge in with dinner in the plush bathrobe on the last night. While I would have loved to order a martini with my dinner...that's ok sparkling water made for a better nights sleep. I called the front desk to inquire if a late check out was possible. The answer was yes! So, I ordered breakfast from room service and worked comfortably before my return flight home.

I wanted a hotel close to theater. So, this hotel was perfect . I walked to & from the ballet. Was upgraded to a. River view. Had room service 1x & stopped by rest. only to have my food delivered to room since I was on a call. Nice rooms & lobby. Just gardens & walkways around complex seemed run down a bit.
