This was our second stay at the Hotel, and we enjoy its old funky vibe. No, it isn't one of the luxury hotels nearby, but it is the oldest continually running hotel in D.C. And is still owned by descendants of the original owners. We love that it is close to the National Mall and that the price allows us... More

This hotel is wonderfully central and convenient for many activities in DC - but the rooms are dark and dreary and the heating system is VERY noisy. Every effort is made to keep the rooms and bathrooms clean but the upholstery and bedding is old. The staff are very kind and helpful.

On a recent trip to Washington, D.C., I had to dig deep…not into my wallet…but rather, into my fortitude. As part of the decreasing population of smokers, I had to find a hotel in the nation’s capital that accommodated my tobacco addiction which led me to the Hotel Harrington. Here’s a description from their website: “Hotel Harrington opened, at 11th... More

Folks, this is not the Ritz, Trump or even the Holiday Inn, but an older hotel a block off of Pennsylvania Avenue and only a few blocks from the White House, National Archives, or the Trump in the Old Post Office. Holding up pretty good after 100+ years, but clean beds. Save a $100 or $200 over the pricier digs... More

I have to say that the location of the hotel is good. It is a walking distance away from the national mall. That is the only nice thing that I have to say. The hotel needs to consider a serious renovation of beds and sanitary tools. I booked the "deluxe suite", it looked like a cheap b&b room. I would... More

Very average hotel. One of the worst I've ever stayed in. However, I knew this when I booked it. Hotel staff are not very friendly. The rooms are very old and outdated and the aircon is something from the 1800's. lts clean, the bed was comfy and it's very close to all the major monuments and great restaurants. It's in... More

I stayed at the Hotel Harrington for 5 nights in October while at a conference at the JW Marriott. I could get back to my room in almost the same time that guests of the very expensive Marriott waited for elevators. The room was small without a view, but very clean and the firm mattress felt new. Also because the... More

Saw it got 3.5 stars on hotels.com but I think that is extremely generous. Nice location for Warner Theater but grossly outdated, uncomfortable bed and no temperature controls. I called desk who said they would notify someone and they'd come. 6 hours later and nobody has showed, room uncomfortably hot and can't sleep. Would not stay here again and stuck... More

When I arranged this business trip, the hotel was on my dime. Consequently, I looked for lodging that would be easy on the wallet. Be prepared for sticker shock while searching for hotels in the DC area close to the mall. All of the major hotel chains have great deals for days when you are NOT there. Prices for hotels... More

The Hotel Harrington is conveniently located in the Penn Quarter neighborhood of Washington DC. It is located a few blocks east of the White House and a few blocks north of the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. It is within walking distance to many historic tourist attractions and is also a half mile west of the Verizon Center. The... More
