Let's start with the pros: (it is a shorter list). -location (a little further from the Mall than I usually stay but still within walking distance) -room (decent room, clean, good size) -price (this was fair overall, not stellar but decent) Cons: -Charges (the hotel made five total charges to my card on file which included the total charge x2 plus three extra charges; eventually the extra four charges were removed so the correct amount was the only one finally processed but this could be frustrating for someone who has not planned for hundreds or thousands in charges holding up their account for a week or so) -Parking (the hotel charges for parking which is an attached public garage; my partner parked and paid less than half of what I was charged due to a reduced weekend rate just paying through the garage. Something to check into) -Restaurants on site (This turned into one of the best memories at the hotel purely for how laughably bad it was. The buffet breakfast was what it was; watery eggs, McDonalds hashbrowns, etc. For dinner my partner ordered the homemade chips as his side. They were literally potato chips. Out of a bag.And they charged extra for them! The gall. The staff were incredibly slow, waiting for 20-30 minutes for drink refills, etc. ) In summary, if you are looking for a moderately priced place to stay for a decent night's rest, this isn't a terrible choice. Watch your charges, check into parking costs, and don't bother eating there. DC has too many good restaurants.…
Hotel was very clean with comfy beds and great water pressure in the shower. All hotel staff were friendly and housekeeping was excellent. You can't beat the location. It is only a block from The Air & Space Museum and within comfortable walking distance of the National Mall. Parking garage was well lit, clean, and there was always an attendant on duty.
The staff member I interact with (a young Chinese man) made derogatory comments behind his mask. I was shocked. I only said hi and he said a nasty thing. In the evening my friend went to the vendor machine they kept close to reception and I waited for her a few steps away and he noticed me. His behaviour repeated. The same nasty comment. I stayed before at the same inn in Windsor and everything was fine. That's the reason I booked again with them but I will never do that again. This is unacceptable customer service not to mention that it's inappropriate in general.
Great location, easy walk to National Mall. The parking garage was a tight fit for our Silverado and the fee was really high, $58 one day. Starbucks and cafe were nice and convenient. Gym was decent. Trains were loud right outside the window. Bathroom was small and not the cleanest.
Love this hotel - great location, wonderful staff. Location is perfect for sightseeing on the mall. Love that there's a Starbucks and restaurants onsite as well (kids eat free!) Shut out to Chris the front desk manager who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable!
I've stayed here on all past DC trips and the location is unbeatable but does the hotel have either a 3 bed room or cots available to accomodate 3 adults? We have three adults that really need to each have their own bed. I did not see any thing about this on the web site.
I stayed here for two nights in December 2022. It took about half an hour by taxi from Dulles airport (early morning when there was no traffic). It's also a 20-minute walk to Union Station, although probably longer as I tend to walk quickly and it would take much longer with luggage. The hotel is located in the middle of an area with government buildings, so there are very few shops and restaurants in the surrounding streets. There are not a lot of people in the streets, although the area did feel safe. Thankfully in the block where the hotel is located there is a Starbucks, deli, pizzeria, and McDonalds. Otherwise, you'll have to walk about 5-10 minutes to L'Enfant Plaza where there's a food court. There are restaurants in the hotel that I did not try, and also a little shop with snacks and drinks. The National Aeronautics and Space Museum is only five minutes away. I stayed here as it was close to a conference that I was attending. Otherwise, if I return to Washington DC, I won't stay in this part of the city. The lobby is wonderful and flash. However, the room itself was a bit dated. I knew this immediately when I entered as the light switch was of an old style. I had a problem with the air conditioning (to heat the room). It was very noisy and came on suddenly at about 3am one morning and woke me up. There were also random plumbing noises at night. Don't stay here if you want a quiet night. The TV signal and wifi were ok but there were occasional hiccups. The bed was comfortable with both soft and hard pillows, and there was plenty of space in the room. The coffee machine was rather old. Haven't you heard of modern Nespresso machines? The service at the front desk was ok, but a bit robotic. There were no smiles or warm welcomes when I arrived and checked out. You should work on that! On my first morning they started vacuuming outside my door at 8:30am and, on my second morning, they knocked on my door at 8:30am to leave me my bill. As I was asleep because of jet lag, that was not good timing. I recommend that hotel staff members try to keep the morning noise down out of consideration for hotel guests. Definitely get the old-fashioned air conditioning fixed as it was very loud!…
Great, affordable and 0.50 miles from every museum and Smithsonian! We LOVED our king size room accommodation and the star bucks and restaurants down stairs! Highly recommend for anyone on their honey moon!
Beautiful hotel! The front desk they were so helpful and very friendly! The rooms were beautiful very comfortable beds , nothing to complain! close to all sites we walk all around! Definitely would recommend this hotel
We stayed here for one night in 09/2022. During our trip, we did not stay in any other hotel. After one night at Holiday Inn, my son got 5 bed bug bites along his legs and arms. I got one on my arm as well. I talked with the staff, and filed a report with the staff (I took a picture of the report and can upload it if needed). The staff told me that they would perform a bedbug search, and follow up with me within a week. Now it is mid 11/2022, I never heard anything from them. When we went home, we left all our luggage outside in the sun, and everybody took a shower before they touched anywhere in the house. In this way, we avoided bringing the bed bugs home. I usually do not write reviews. That's why it took me so long to finally write it down here. I would not recommend avoiding this place to anyone.…
