Nicely decorated, vast, modern lobby with bar area. Welcoming staff. Rooms are very spacious, clean, decorated in neutral tones, highly functional. Executive lounge offers decent breakfast, but seating on couches not the most practical. All in all, a comfortable hotel, albeit quite expensive (admittedly, all hotels in DC are very expensive!)

Being a gold member, I was upgraded to a junior suite with a nice large room with extra sofa bed. Bathroom towels were fresh and soft. Location was great with 5 minutes from Metro Station and 2 minutes walking from convention center. The check in staff told me the upgraded room has a beautiful view. Well, room 319 was facing...

We got to this hotel at lunchtime and I ended up eating at the Starbucks for lunch. I didn't want to leave the hotel since I was working in the room but I needed to eat. No room service in the middle of the day. The casual restaurant was closed, so the only option was the bar, a hotel lobby...

Dear MorganElyse, Thank you for taking the time to write a review about our hotel. I certainly understand your concern that our hotel did not have the food options you expected for lunch. Our President's Sports Bar and Grille is available at 11:30am for lunch and has amazing food options such as Lobster and Crab Salad (my favorite), Crab Cakes,...

We stayed for 2 nights and we were not impressed by the room. It was OK but I would expect more from a 4-star hotel than just a nice lobby. The location is good when you plan to go to the stadium to watch NHL.

Dear sebi1963, Thank you for writing a review about our hotel. I do agree that our location is perfect for staying to attend the NHL playoffs with our amazing Washington Capitals! I do understand that you did believe that our guest rooms were special. They do reflect a DC flair; however, I apologize that they were not the level you...

Have stayed here a few times for a conference held at this hotel. The location is descent, walking distance to great restaurants, even the monuments. The rooms are ok, nothing special at this price point. Our conference rate was $229, but after the cutoff the rate was $499 per night. I cannot imagine anyone paying that price to stay here....

Dear Kayla A, Thank you for writing a review about your recent stay at our hotel. While your rate did change after your conference concluded, I do understand that you did not believe the rate change reflected our hotel and amenities. Based on demand, at times, our rates do rise before and after group business. I do apologize that you...

We stayed 2 nites for a convention in May 2015. This is a $300+ / room place, so you expect certain things at this price point. First the good: the lobby is great, the staff very welcoming, and our room itself was clean and modern. No problems here. But. But at this price point, I expect free wifi in the...

I had a very brief stay at the Renaissance Washington DC this past week and I was very notably underwhelmed. The service across the board - from the day and night front desk staff to the fitness center staffer - was completely without passion or interest in providing helpful service. It was just a hotel with rooms. No one really...

Location is very good for the Convention Center. Service is very good. Quite adequate electrical plugs for laptops, cell phones etc. WiFi should be included at these room rates! Would not recommend to a family with children for touring DC. Food and restaurant are typical for a large hotel in a metropolitan area.

I recently stayed 4 nights at this hotel. If you're looking for a nice hotel close to public transportation and the DC attractions, this is it! I was in DC to attend a congress and this hotel was ideally located, just across the street from the conference centre. The hotel itself is functional with clean rooms and offers a decent breakfast.
