We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is tucked away on a residential street in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood. An easy walk to Trader Joe’s, and all that we wanted to see. Having a kitchenette and suite style room was perfect for our “mother daughter” college tour trip. We loved eating breakfast in our room each morning. The front desk staff was warm, welcoming, and helpful. Our room was comfortable, well-appointed, and spacious. We would absolutely return.
This hotel is located in Foggy Bottom--walk to the Watergate, shops, waterfront, GW etc. The rooms are clean clean clean, super nice and big with separate sitting areas and a full kitchen. The beds are really comfortable. The staff is very professional and friendly.
The room was great - large and had everything that you need. Wonderful for pets, easy in/out and a great dog park very nearby. Good location too. Highly recommend. If we are again in the DC area, we would select The River Inn.
We stayed here recently and it was fine, but very clean, which is disconcerting in this current time of COVID. The staff was nice and accomodating. Oh, and "the A/C wasn't turned on yet," so the cooling solution offered was to open the windows. It's pretty noisy in DC, especially in the middle of a college campus on a Saturday night. Not really ideal, so be aware.
We went to Washington DC for 4 days during spring break, and debated between staying at the Conrad and taking advantage of their Sakura dining plan or staying at the River Inn. In the end we decided on the River Inn because of its excellent rate, reasonable parking fees and the fact that the hotel does not charge extra to bring our dog, and it was a perfect choice for our family. Hotel was immaculately clean, charming, and so close and convenient to everything. We were able to walk everywhere including restaurants, Whole Foods, the National Mall and the White House, and took good advantage of the kitchen in our room with a full size refrigerator. Both the bed and the sofa bed was comfortable and the bathroom was compact but clean and efficient. But this is what took this hotel to the next level, for us - Will at the front desk was so friendly and kind, and went above and beyond with his customer service (we had issues with Expedia.com and for checking out earlier for one of the two rooms we booked). Also, the cleaning staff on the 2nd floor were so nice and friendly always greeting guests with a smile. My 8 year old son loved saying hi to Will whenever he was at the front desk and looked forward to seeing him every day. I cannot recommend this hotel enough and we are already planning our trip to DC again for the summer at my son's insistence that we go back to the River Inn.…
