Superb hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Staff were warm and welcoming upon arrival. Reception area appears small but don’t be fooled - the rooms are tremendous. Beautifully decorated, very well appointed, so much space! Location is great too with Dupont Circle just up the road and in the opposite direction, a gentle 20 minute morning stroll to The Whitehouse with lots of great cafes along the way :)

Hotel's Favourite
This hotel exceeded expectations in EVERY way! Staff was absolutely amazing from front desk to bar staff to housekeeping and bellhop. Amazingly friendly and helpful. Made us feel like family by greeting us by name all the time. Room was super clean, huge bathroom, comfortable beds and nice touches everywhere. Ice on every floor prepackaged in individual bags. We will NEVER visit DC again and stay anywhere else. Keep up the great job and we’ll see you soon! Love love love this hotel!

We spent 4 days at the Hotel Madera during the Thanksgiving 2022 week. We loved the hotel. Our room was large (460 square feet), comfortable and absolutely spotless. Kudos to the wonderful housekeeping staff. Maggie and the staff at the front desk were hospitable, efficient and had a vast knowlege of all things DC. Eddie and Robert took great care of our car. A shoutout to Rodney, our server at Firefly, the adjoining restaurant, where we had a delicious breakfast every morning. We can’t wait to come back. Note to Mr. Arff: Please don’t change a thing!

This was our first trip to DC. This boutique hotel is right off of Dupont Circle and is an excellent location for experiencing the U.S. Capital. Easy walk to the National Mall. Great dining all within walking distance. Felt very safe walking the area; even at night. More importantly was the awesome staff service we received during our stay. Dancia, Deja, Robert and JC made us feel right at home and always aimed to please! The accommodations were very comfortable. Our room was large and renovated to modern standards. The bed and pillows were very soft and comfortable. Slept very well during our one week stay. Thank you Hotel Madera Staff for Everything!!!

This hotel is one of the best hotel stays I’ve had in over 25 years visiting DC and staying in many properties. Sumptuously large rooms (I had the King deluxe- Rm 507) make your experience more like an apartment than a standard hotel room. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, helping with additional coffee requests and showing me how to operate the TV when the remote was not cooperating. Daily maid service is back which was very welcomed. The location is superior, just steps away from the Dupont Circle Red line station and 12 minute walk to the Foggy Bottom Metro station.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Madera and couldn't have asked for a better experience! We were treated exceptionally by all the staff and enjoyed friendly banter all the way to our room. When we walked in we were surprised by how large the room was and the beautiful view from the balcony. But what was truly superior was the location! Easy access to everything, in such a cool area of DC, with the metro right there! Definitely will be coming back!

We recently visited DC for the first time and was looking for a quiet boutique hotel that was centrally located. The Madera was the perfect place for our visit. It's very close to all the normal attractions (the mall, monuments, museums, restaurants, etc) and in a very safe neighborhood. The hotel was very clean, the staff was super friendly and accommodating and our rooms were very spacious with lots of storage. The bathroom was very large with a spa like feel, and the beds were super comfy. Although the front desk area was small (I don't expect anything large for a boutique hotel) the staff was extremely friendly and super fun to chat with. We had a great stay at The Madera and we are planning our return visit (and yes, we will be staying at Madera again). Thanks for a great stay!

Our king-sized room was spacious with well-chosen furnishings. We Really appreciated the water dispenser in the hallway counter that offered filtered water in both flat and bubbly options. That little feature was unique and really added to the comfort of our stay. The electric kettle and coffee in a tea bag was a brilliant and tasty alternative to the usual coffee maker and stale coffee you usually find in hotel rooms. Robert and Dancia were at the front counter for the 3 nights we were there and took great care of us with friendly, smiling faces.

From our first steps in the front door through the end of our visit to DC, we enjoyed every aspect of staying at the Hotel Madera. With the location near Dupont Circle, it is easy to get around town to see all the sites with the benefit of staying in quieter neighborhood. The staff were always there to greet us and help us with any request, the rooms are well appointed and very comfortable, and the restaurant makes delicious cappuccino. We actually extended our stay, twice...and still did not want to leave our balcony. Thank you to all at Hotel Madera for being the perfect place to stay during our first trip to DC.
