Excellent service, extremely welcoming personnel, excellent location, excellent bedding. Awesome really big rooms! We’ve had a very cool happy hour every day from 5.30 to 6.00 and felt welcomed just as we were visiting friends.
What makes an hotel great? In short it’s the employees! Every respectable leader know this but way too often the workforce is undervalued and when this happens it shows up in so many negative ways. But when employees are valued great things happen. Like what is going on in the Madera/FireFly! A good hotel is clean and nicely decorated. A better hotel is that plus keeps the facility updated to give you the feeling of new and trendy. But a great hotel is all of that plus self motivated happy and helpful employees who are appreciated. The Madera / FireFly has all of this and more! I’ll highlight three employees who really made my recent stay a memorable one. However, if you check out my past reviews on the Madera you’ll find there are many fantastic employees there. Anastasia is General Manager. She simply is amazing! Even the most casual observer can see Anastasia’s passion is her work. The way in which she interacts with her direct reports/coworkers is that of respect. The environment she creates is uplifting and happy and her attention to customers flawless. Viktoria is the lead bartender in the FireFly restaurant. With all the duties she preforms it amazes me how she can spend time to get to know her customers. A good bartender will listen a great bartender will share of themselves. This is what great relationships are made of. And I feel I have a new friend in Viktoria! Cristela in the front desk assistant manager. But my primary experience with Cristela was in her role as the Happy Hour Hostess. The Old Fashions she served was some of the best i’ve every tasted. She is so delightful and eager to serve. When at the desk she never fails to greet you with a warm welcome and bottles of water! When going out for the evening she is always eager to hear of our plans and wishes us well. So yeah employees can make or break any establishment. What I can tell you is that the Madera Hotel and adjoining FireFly restaurant has some of the best employees I’ve come across in the many years I’ve been traveling. It is my go to place when visiting Washington DC. Check it out, I guarantee you will feel like you are a VIP in a 5 star hotel for a fraction of the cost other nearby 4 star hotels.…
This is a very nice hotel with great amenities located near Dupont Circle and the West End neighborhoods. The rooms are clean, the staff is excellent, and the offerings are very good, including free happy hour, unlimited water bottles, in and out valet service, an excellent gym, free wi-fi and all at very affordable rates. I would like to give a special shout out to the valet by the name of "E" who was so attentive to my needs and provided first class service. This is definitely worth a stay if you're visiting DC!
Perfect location in DC, welcomes special needs and traveling pets and excellent in house restaurant and bar. Entire complex appears very new, stayed in two queen room - spacious and comfortable. Staff was very attentive.
This sexy and perfectly located hotel was a dream return to my home city. It has amazing service and I had the perfect view. I will return to this property! Soon. Amazing hotel. The staff was so giving and present and Sharon Chicks was more than our point person. She was our guide and host. Our collective team had a wonderful experience.
