There is something very special about this hotel and its proximity to the White House. It's a true American experience. The staff is helpful and first class across the board. You are literally across the street from the White House and all of the hubbub which goes on around it. A near perfect experience. Two very minor issues. The hotel...

From the moment we arrived, my husband and I were made to feel like very honoured guests. The reception staff were very polite and helpful and so we're all the staff with whom we were in contact. The hotel is beautiful and located within walking distance to everything in Downtown Washington DC. Our room had white house views and was...

A Washington institution which continues to deliver a terrific experience to its guests. The location opposite the White House can't be bettered and we were fortunate to have a fifth floor room looking straight across at the White House (with a few blossom trees in the foreground to complete the picture). The staff were tremendously friendly and professional throughout -...

We were in town to attend an Admitted Students Day at a local university. In a word, the hotel was as fine a hotel as I've ever been (and I've been at a few really nice ones - Four Seasons, St Regis, Sofitel, Ritz Carlton, Sofitel). It is reminiscent of the Plaza in its hey day. My teenage daughter who...

Second time back. Unfortunately it was over Easter and the hotel was a mad house. The staff was still as friendly as ever. The beds are still as comfy as I remember. The restaurant is wonderful for breakfast and the bar downstairs is great for cocktails. Little street noise can be heard just from the location of the hotel, but...

The Hay Adams is certainly a nice hotel with a few rooms overlooking the White House, but if you are given any other room, I would not recommend staying here. Our room was overlooking an alley and the trucks collecting trash were extremely noisy every morning. When we didn't hear those trucks we could hear the bellmans whistling for taxis....

My husband and I just got back from spending 3 nights in this luxurious hotel. All of the staff were excellent and made us feel special from the moment we arrived. We have just come back from a 4 night stay at the the hotel. The plus sides to this hotel is that the rooms are elegantly furnished in a luxurious traditional style. Very comfortable beds and soft sateen bed linen. The staff were uniformly helpful and courteous. The breakfast choice is very good and the dining room is fresh and...

Our stay was perfect from start to finish. The concierge was welcoming and the staff were fantastic. Our room had white house views and was definitely worth the money. The La Fayette had a particularly nice maitre d' and we were seated with a superb view. In sum, this hotel is where you should stay if you want to be...

We stayed here one night on a special deal as otherwise I probably wouldn't have spent the money to stay here. However, if I visit DC again, I will probably find a way to afford to stay here the whole trip. This hotel is luxury at its best. The hotel is gorgeous, the staff is excellent and the room was...
