We've stayed here mutiple times in the past, but the rooms were getting pretty tired. Rooms are now completely remodeled. Beds comfortable. Got rid of useless bath tubs and replaced with a luxurious rainfall shower. Nice lighting, clean AC filters and great balconies. Only complaint...More
This is a terrific hotel which we visit every year for the Holidays. There is no place more Christmasy. The rooms have been upgraded with lighter colors, but the Craftsman style is still everywhere. Great lobby with Santa and a roaring fire, spacious guest rooms...More
Honestly, Disney. You know customer service. Like no other. Last year we stayed at the DLH, loved it. This year, we were booked for PPH, but there was a special where we could stay at GCH for the same rate, so, DUH! We did! It...More
My family has stayed at the Grand many times before and this time it was between December 3-5 2017. We had connecting rooms on the third floor with an interior courtyard view, it was great! The newly remodeled rooms have more features than ever before....More
We often like to stay close to the park, as a family it helps to be close for nap-time. This time we decided to treat ourselves to a “Downtown Disney view” and it was SO worth it. It made the trip magical for my little...More

With your little ones in a stroller I say 10-15 minutes, but the best part is you pass security at the hotel entrance. I suggest during Magic Morning hours leave hotel 30 minutes after they start letting people through where many guest get there early and line up. The monorail while fun for kids to ride will slow you down, but probably better to ride it back tot he hotel where in the evening Main Street and Downtown Disney gets packed.
Staying on property is a huge benefit to enjoy the Disney experience and Best Westerns to me is ratty where homeless people hang out at. If Californian is out of your budget then try the other two, Disneyland or Paradise Pier. Try to get a room with view of fireworks where your kids will surely enjoy it where Disney plays the fireworks music through the TV, and Californian has balconies so can go outside.

we are here now in room 5013/5014. each room has it's own bathroom. however with the lounge/sitting room there is a common bathroom that serves the sofa bed guests and the adjacent bedroom. there will be privacy issues. the second master bedroom has it's own bathroom that is private because the "joining" door can be closed and locked
