Tey greeted us and provided a totally welcome, friendly environment. The rooms are very nice and spacious, and the common area is very inviting. The breakfast, which was made-to-order and provided much earlier than normal because of our business obligations, was very delicious.

Take a drive up to Calaveras Big Trees. Back in the 1800's, Big Trees was one of the Great Wonders of The World and they are truly magnificent. Check out the Angels Camp Museum, and really get a taste of the California Gold Rush. Definitely visit the town of Murphys. Its a historical gold rush town with great shopping, excellent food and 22 wine tasting rooms right on main street within a 1 mile stretch! And for your wife's birthday dinner I recommend Grounds in Murphys or V Bistro at The Victorian Inn. Excellent food and great ambiance. Make a reservation and Enjoy!
