The Carlton is an elegant old hotel which has been beautifully restored. The room was spacious and the king size bed was luxurious. The main drawback is that the adjoining restaurant and bar are no longer in business.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. Their staff lied to me about the total amount per night, then over charged my credit card. The manger, Deena, was rude and unhelpful. She refused to even look into the situation denying that her staff told me what the appropriate fees were. I'd recommend staying elsewhere if you are in the area- not...

My wife and I stayed at this historic hotel, which was beautifully remodeled to it's days of glory. I can not say enough about how wonderful this place was. The rooms were very quiet, clean, neat and the bed was one of the most comfortable that we have ever slept on. The historic ambiance took me back in time and...

Lovely upscale, clean, beautifully decorated, and historical room. The bathroom was mainly marble with a nice large tub that included a separate large walk-in shower. The room size was average, but the bed was extremely comfortable with great quality bedding. I was a little disappointed with the television, as it was an older style flat screen as opposed to a...

Great alternative to "normal" hotels. Historic hotel with excellent renovation. Staff very friendly, room very large. Had a courtyard room so was really quiet. Competitive rate with same standard chain hotels. Several restaurants and shops walking distance. Will definitely return. Atascadero just has such a nice atmosphere.

This Hotel is a story in and of itself. Once a great, historic, classic hotel this hotel was refurbished 10 years ago and was a labor of love for the owner. The facility is well done and very classy. The rooms are tastefully decorated and finished in a fashion that indicates taste and posh comfort. The hotel is currently missing...

Rooms are very spacious, beautiful marble bathrooms with jacuzzi tub and separate shower. Plenty of potential to be a incredible hotel. Perhaps the owner needs to spend some dough on minor upgrades: room smelled musty, shower head wasn't good. Mattress was ok, but soft. Hotel could update sheets to be a bit more luxurious. Clean sans some sticky stuff on...

I requested a block of rooms for my class reunion at this hotel and everything was seamless. My friend's an I all studied in Florence, Italy and were amazed at how much this hotel felt like a 5 start hotel in Europe, especially with the courtyard in the center of the rooms. Our room was very clean, quiet and had...

We love this hotel, having visited here more than six times. We use it as our base for touring wine country in Paso Robles. Good value, the hotel almost seems like a higher end Four Seasons type but without the extravagant price tag. It has been through some changes--resturants seem to come and go--but we've always enjoyed ourselves.

We just returned from the weekend at The Carlton. We love this hotel and always stay here when going to Paso Robles. The hotel is beautiful and only ten to fifteen minutes from Paso. Unfortunately the bakery is closed but soon to be reopened. There isn't much in the immediate area except wine rooms and Figs. I just live the...
