We were here for 1 night. I had just come from Reno where I stayed in a hotel that was just as close to the I-80 as this one was. The difference, I did not hear the freeway at this hotel. The beds were so comfortable, and I got a great nights sleep.
In addition, I was here for an activity, the staff was nice enough to let me check in a little early so I did not need to leave my luggage in my car all day.
I will stay here again.

The room was in an overall run-down condition. Additionally, there was only 1 nightstand. No nightstand lights at all. The one light associated with the switch was inadequate. For the bed, there were 2 small square throw pillows provided. I requested more pillows and was told there were no more anywhere in the hotel. The top sheet was torn. The mattress seemed comfortable. Front desk staff inept.
Next time we will stay at Motel 6 next door.

Hotel felt safe and quiet. Waffle maker at breakfast is great! Room was very large. Fine for a budget hotel. Checkout at noon was also really nice to be able to sleep in. There is a pool and hot tub which we did not use. Plenty of parking. Would stay here again if passing through for the night.

My husband and I live in the area and needed a place to stay one night when our home was having some work done. We decided to stay in Auburn and use the opportunity to go hiking the next day. I don’t understand what these other reviewers are talking about when they give this place mediocre reviews. We thought it was great! Our room was clean, spacious and modern- the bathtub was large and comfortable and the shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, etc. were delightful! I actually went online to try and buy full sized bottles they were so lovely! Duvet on the bed, high quality mattress, down pillows. We both recommend this place and would stay here again.

At 6:50 A.M. I turned on my shower but very, very little water came out of the spigot. I did not have the time to wait for a fix. At 7:30, when checking out I asked for compensation. The desk attendant said he could not help me with that request. I called later to speak with the afternoon manager. She told me "it was crazy" to ask for compensation after I had spent the night. When reminding her that the problem did not occur until morning she once again said that request could only be made before spending the night.
Also, only one side of the bed had a working nightstand light that was too dim to be useful. Not acceptable in the age of LED lighting.

The employees at hotel were excellent!! Very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are filthy. Stains everywhere. Asked to be moved to a different room due to abundance of black mold in shower. New room was better, but still dirty. Will never stay here again.

No batter for waffles. The eggs seemed off as well. Nobody at reception desk when I checked out. All of the soap/shampoo was out. Good thing I only stayed one night. Probably should have a signal that this place was bad because it was the only hotel with availability. But at least there’s a Starbucks across the street.

The hotel shows deferred maintenance everywhere. One window was dysfunctional, drapes were torn, electrical outlets would not hold chargers. The desk chair had been left with bolts stripped, and it fell apart when my husband (normal size) sat in it. He landed on his back on the floor. Fortunately, he wasn't hurt, but we were NOT impressed with the Red Lion Inn.

This place is a dump as other reviewrs state, but that's not the worse of it. My boyfriend and I (he's a retired psychologist, I'm a retired legal assistant) unfortunately stayed there four nights. At the end, we found that they overcharged us by not honoring the initial rate quoted. To make matter worse they also claimed that we left FECES (imagine that) all over the floor and broke windows in the room. As if we would even stay in such conditions. When we called to speak with the man at the front desk (named Guy) he actually called me over and over again, "psychotic, psycho, psychotic, psycho" because I was upset with these allegations. Futhermore, when I told him to shut up because he was talking over me he said "you may talk to your boyfriend that way, but not me, and I hope your boyfriend HITS you when you say that to him" What? Hello? This is the front desk personnel? I asked himif he mistook us for a twenty something rock band that we would leave feces on the floor and break a window, and he started yelling. I think they're charging guests wrongly to pay to update this veritable sewer for them.

The most vile place on the planet. Dangerous, dirty, drunken, smoking teenagers hanging out in the lobby (not hotel guests). Filty, smelly rooms, everything broken and falling apart. Rooms faced a toxic waste dump. Smoking galore in the "non smoking" halls and rooms on the non-smoking floor. Hooligans skateboarding in the parking lot. Not one redeeming feature. Scariest and most repulsive night of my life.
Try the Best Western nearby...although no beauty, it was way better an actually run like a motel!
