This Red Lion Inn is conveniently located, right off the I-80 in Auburn, CA. Before going "over the hill", as the locals call driving Donner Summit, you may want to rest up and spend the night. Rooms are clean, spacious and comfortably outfitted with all the equipment you might need, including double USB charging ports at both nightstands. Complementary breakfast...

This is now the Red Lion Inn and it is clear the new manager is striving to move it up a gear. There was work going on but it did not spoil our stay Nice room and a pleasant pool outside with clean towels and a hot tub. Unlike most US hotels breakfast is included which was excellent. A few...

First even with their so called renovations, old hotel. They overbooked the hotel so some people arrived and the hotel had no rooms. I booked a two room suite 1 king and 2 queen beds. Was given 1 king bed.that's it! We are a family of 5 . The lady at front desk Betty was rude and said there was...

PROS: Hotel is conveniently located to shopping and freeway access yet at a quiet and good location. The rooms are clean and newly redecorated. The new name is "RED LION INN". The staff was helpful and friendly. I would consider staying there again. CONS: The sink in the room was plugged up, or very very slow draining. Found out that...

We stayed in room 139. The room was clean, it had a microwave and a refrigerator. The A/C worked well. The breakfast was okay, it had eggs, sausage, and pastries. This is not a 5 star hotel but it served the purpose of our trip. We did not go to Auburn to hang out at the hotel. This hotel is a...

This hotel looks really nice on the outside but it still needs a few updates inside. The beds were ok. It had big television in the room. The pool area needs some tlc especially the bathrooms out there. They were disgusting. Breakfast was good. The staff was very friendly.

We stayed at this Comfort Inn in June of 2014. I wrote a great review, however, we have just spent 6 nights there and I don't know what happened from June, 2014 to March,2015 but... First, let me give the good things - the staff was friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome... However, our...

This place is a dump as other reviewrs state, but that's not the worse of it. My boyfriend and I (he's a retired psychologist, I'm a retired legal assistant) unfortunately stayed there four nights. At the end, we found that they overcharged us by not honoring the initial rate quoted. To make matter worse they also claimed that we left...

This place was a dump. I don't think it had been updated in 40 years.... stained/torn wallpaper, popcorn ceilings, worn out carpets, and a mattress that had been clearly slept on by a thousand before me. I couldnt check out soon enough. Just drive another 30 minutes and check into a decent hotel in Sacramento. I wish I had!

Very quiet for being immediately next to the freeway. However, there is no elevator so if you have a room on the second floor you have to lug your suitcase up the stairs. Interior entries. Breakfast selection is good.
