Detailed Reviews
I was keenly disappointed to find the week before our arrival they were not serving breakfast. Nevertheless, we brought our own food for the am and used the coffee/tea service they provide in the kitchen. The house is then about the outside seating areas as you won't be in the dining room, our sleeping room had zero chairs and the living room had no coffee table to set down anything, laptop, etc. Outside is a beautiful view over the old town and in the evening, the lit cupola of the county building. A deer wandered up to say hello as well. Biggest issue is the glass door shower in right next to the bed so there is absolutely NO privacy for showering. That's silly for even a couple. Tip: We had Old Town pizza deliver because it was blazing hot to walk down into town to eat dinner. Brought our own wine and enjoyed the patio. Very nice. PS: Couldn't get the tv in the downstairs to work either.

For those who prefer the architectural beauty of a renovated historic home The Park Victorian is a beautiful choice. Situated on a hilltop overlooking old town Auburn this lovely intimate inn is a delight for the senses. As a solo traveler the queen Wrigley room was perfect; luxurious bedding, exquisitely remodeled, beautiful view. Communication was excellent with contactless check-in. The kitchen provides coffee & tea service (no breakfast as stated although great options close by). This is the type of place I seek out on my travels & I look forward to returning. Many thanks to the owner for this excellent option!

I have to use a walker. When speaking with Laurie before reserving our rooms, she assured me there was handicap access and that Chana would be a good choice. So I booked Chana and Judah for Thanksgiving night. We stopped to get our keys on the way to Grass Valley so as not to disturb the innkeepers' Thanksgiving and so we did not have to check in later.
From website photos, it looks like the entrance is up some stairs and through the parlor. Turns out the entrance is at rear, through door between kitchen/dining area; absolutely flat. I did not need to use my walker once inside room - everything was within "reaching distance". The bathroom is quite large with a bench in rain shower; modern with hot water on demand. A personal touch was the Thanksgiving card placed on the mantle. Breakfast, as stated in previous reviews, was excellent and not rushed. A fond memory is looking up from the bed and marveling at those soaring ceilings. Truly an exceptional place to stay.

For $225 per night, this place isn’t worth it. It is right up a small hill from the railroad tracks and the freeway. There is NO staff on site. There is no longer a breakfast included, like there was before the pandemic. You cannot walk to downtown, unless you bring your hiking shoes, as it is up a long private drive that is dotted with potholes. The toilet paper holder is loose and the roll fell on the floor. The “barn door” in the room is unfinished. The top sheet on the bed was ripped. There was trash on the ground as you entered the parking area. See photos for the last four issues. MIGHT stay there again if it was about $150 per night.

I live within a 5-10 minute walk of The Park Victorian. My home is very small and I wanted a very comfortable place for my folks to stay while visiting (so that they'll visit more often!). I didn't have a chance to preview the property before booking the room. The photos I saw on FaceBook were as advertised. This place is gorgeous! It wasn't just a place for my folks to rest their head, but an experience in and of itself. It was fun to get together with them in the parlor before we went into town for dinner. The owners have big plans for The Park Victorian and continue to work on developing the grounds, which are spectacularly located with incredible views of Old Town Auburn and the surrounding locale. Five minute walk for me or no, I plan on a Staycation here. Why let everyone else have all the fun?!

Beautiful B & B. External renovations in progress; lovely interior. Quiet and walking distance to Old Town Auburn. My husband and I loved the comfortable relaxing atmosphere! And the host was gracious. Highly recommend!

+1
Absolutely magnificent. Beautiful style and the comfort of family. Accommodating to every need and request. Delishious breakfast spread every morning, Laurie let us pinch some fruit for our day trips too. Best cinnamon rolls I have ever had, Laurie promised to send me the recipe. Thank you so much for looking after our crew.

This quiet little place is perfect for a weekend getaway. Beautiful, new rooms. Walk 2 minutes and you're shopping in Old Town Auburn. If walking isn't your thing, ask about a golf-cart limo to pick you up for dinner at Carpe Vino.

One of the most unique and charming places I've ever stayed. The decor, the hill too views, the comfort of the beds, so cozy, warm inviting with so much character. We were lucky to have stayed here...
