It's a dude ranch that concentrates on the riding programme. Not the fine dining and fine wines type of place. The mountains are sensational, of course, pretty much like all of the Rockies, I suppose. The Van Berkum family and the staff make everyone feel like family, and the social side of being there is great. Generally there are 2...

My wife and I celebrated our 30th Anniversary at the Rainbow Trout Ranch. We were so impressed with the beauty of the Ranch, lodge, and our rustic cabin. Ownership has successfully created a family environment, which you instantly become a part of, when you cross the door threshold. We are novice riders, and I'm a rookie fly fisherman. Jennifer rode...

Rainbow Trout Ranch is a southern Colorado hidden treasure. The moment you arrive you are treated like family. Great food, great service, excellent horseback riding and trout fishing. You have a log cabin to yourselves which is rustic but yet homey. Walk outside at night and stare at the millions of stars in the sky with the milkyway band. Go...

No doubt about it, this was our best holiday EVER! The Van Berkham's have sprinkled some sort of magic over this ranch. Our horses were all perfectly selected for us, matching our riding ability and size. The country is beautiful to ride in. All the young staff were delightful and helpful. There was more fresh, family friendly food than you...

My husband and I wanted to take each of our grandchildren on a special trip. This was our first one and we decided to go to a dude ranch. After some research we picked Rainbow Trout Ranch. We were not disappointed. The ranch was authentic west, beautiful, 100 year old main lodge surrounded by small well appointed guest cabins. The...

We have just returned from our second trip to Rainbow Trout Ranch. Most guests have been going many years longer than us which speaks for itself! The heart and soul of this vacation is being welcomed into the Rainbow Trout family led by the Van Berkum family but inclusive of all the amazing staff. The horseback riding is first class....

Just got back from a week's family vacation - 18 of us ranging from age 8 to 75. Everything about the stay was AMAZING! The hospitality, horseback riding, fishing, scenery, hikes, food, staff, dancing.... a true working dude ranch experience! Loved every minute of it! Activities for all ages, a true family experience. We will cherish the trip and memories...

My wife and I spent a week at RTR in July, 2015 (I had to select "Sept 2015 below but we actually traveled in July). We had never been to a Dude ranch before and really had no idea what to expect. This being our 25th wedding anniversary I really wanted our time to be special. In short, it was...

We arrived as a large group of 5 adults and 8 kids to RTR for a holiday of friends and family for a lifetime. We had been researching from the UK dude ranches, and had finally plumped on RTR by a combination of personal recommendation and Trip Advisor reviews. Although expensive, we had good feelings by how accommodating and inclusive...

Where do I even begin to write this review? My trip to Rainbow Trout Ranch fulfilled so many dreams for me that I have tears in my eyes as I write this. You see, I grew up in the 70's on Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie and the Black Stallion book series. I was fascinated by everything that...
