The hotel was very cozy and intimate, and the manager was helpful, pleasant and friendly. I can say that the lady at the front desk could have been more knowledgeable about attractions in the area, as she seemed completely baffled by our questions about accessing the Maroon Bells. However, the room was clean and cozy and the breakfast was excellent!

Thanks for your feedback. Sorry we failed to provide good information to you about the Maroon Bells, one of Aspen's main attractions. We will certainly discuss and make sure we do better in the future. --Craig More

The hotel is pretty old but the rooms have been recently renovated and everything looks neat and tidy. The rooms are slightly smaller but cozy and nice. The fluffy clean towels and heated bathroom floor added an extra touch to the amenities. Overall decent rooms at good prices. The hot made to order breakfast plus the usual continental stuff makes it... More

If you are looking for a decent hotel in the heart of Aspen, this is perfect. The hotel has kind of a European 1970s vibe and could stand to be updated. Some of the rooms open out to the street and some are more of a traditional hotel hallway style. The A/C in our room was not great and we... More

Loved staying here! Though it doesn't have all the most up-to-date amenities, it really made you feel like you were at a bed and breakfast even though it was a hotel. The breakfasts are held at large tables where you get to meet other guests and the staff is really friendly. It turns out a lot of the people go... More

While certainly not the most modern of hotels, the Mountain Chalet had that comfortable ski chalet vibe. The room was perfectly fine and the breakfast in the morning was the perfect thing to start the day. Once parked (getting into the underground lot was kind of tricky) we were able to fully explore downtown without having to get the kids... More

If you are looking for a quaint lodge in Aspen the Mountain Chalet is your place. It is one, if not, the oldest places in Aspen and the history and charm are something to experience. From the warm greeting you get to the many photo's of by-gone days to the great "free" full breakfast this place is a winner. It... More

Wonderful old hotel. The staff was so friendly!! The breakfasts were full and tasty. This hotel is so well located in Aspen - just a short walk from the walking street where all the restaurants are. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It has lots of character and I hope they don't take it down to put a... More

I had many great meals there. I have never stayed in the rooms though. The views are awesome in any direction. This small inn has a quaint swimming pool at the base of the ski slopes. As you can see from the posted picture, it is across the street from the sports park.

Traveled with my wife to spend the weekend with the kids. Booked the Mountain Chalet Aspen because it was the most affordable hotel in the middle of Aspen. Overall it was a good stay. The staff was very nice, the location outstanding and the free breakfast perfect. The WIFI was excellent. The hotel itself shows its age (first building dates... More
