My husband and I stopped in to have cocktails and a bite to eat. We have visited Apalach multiple times but this was our first visit to the bar. Shawn, the bartender, was great fun and the martini was spot on. This little bar has an amazing nostalgic vibe, with great food, great drinks, great company! We will be back...

Very charming and quaint inn in downtown Apalachicola. It is actually nicer in person than the pictures on website! We had a king corner room on the 3rd floor. We were traveling light so had no problem climbing stairs (no elevator) but that could be a problem for lots of folks. The bed was comfy and room was clean. There...

The history runs deep here from the wooden creaky floors and stairs to the old bar that people bellied up to over a century ago. First off, know what you are getting into. If your the type of person who wants a chain hotel experience, then skip the Gibson. If you love old historical places and their charm, if like...

We've visited before and enjoy our stays there. Very "old hotel" type place, great location within walking distance of shopping and food. Wonderful wrap around porches on bottom floors. Nice bar with a great bartender. Happy hour every evening 5-7. For Old Florida charm we highly recommend as a place to stay.

we loved staying with you! Our room was small but I assume that was typical in the early 1800s. The people working there were fantastic....Especially Betsy and Evan. If you need reliable wifi you may want to stay elsewhere because It was very iffy

Stopped at the Gibson while motorcycling around Florida and Georgia trying to find a place to stay before the rain came. The staff was wonderful and helpful. The room was small but nicely decorated, ac worked and there was a ceiling fan. The bar was nice and the restaurant staff and food was superb. The wrap around porch on both...

We enjoyed our stay in this old, historic inn. This was our first visit to the area and the hotel had been recommended by friends. The Inn has been preserved with updates that maintained the Inn's authenticity. Zanna and the staff were welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast is light fare. We also recommend eating at Gormley's restaurant.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Gibson Inn is a fine example of Florida "Cracker" Architecture. This was the style of wood frame structure used widely in the 19th and early 20th century in Florida. These homes and businesses are characterized by metal roofs, raised floors, high ceilings, center hallways, and large wrap around porches. A widows walk and cupola crown the tin roof, all a reflection of the area's steamboat past. Built in 1907 of native heart pine and black cypress, the inn soon became known as a first class luxury hotel and was the only one between Pensacola and Jacksonville heated entirely by steam. Now listed on the National Historic Register of Historic Places. Many of the 30 guest rooms are uniquely appointed with authentic antique furnishings, cable TV, telephone, and wireless internet. Each guest room has its own full private bath. ... more   less
