Stayed here for one night and regret it. Should've saved my $70 and drove the two hours home. The room was dirty. There was hair in the shower drain. Hair in the bed when we pulled the blankets back. Hair in our basket of 'clean' towels. There was a mirror with spots and finger smudges all over it (just demonstrated...

A stay at the Jacaranda is worth the visit to Avon Park ! This building is a historic gem with each room decorated individually. The staff were delightfully accommodating and friendly. Coffee and light breakfast items were included in the rate. The locals frequent the lobby restaurant. We were very happy in our corner suite 218 at the end of...

Stayed here on a last minute decision not to drive home and was very pleasantly surprised! VERY reasonable room rates and the building is full of old Florida history. Got a Master Suite room and it was very spacious with a large sitting room and very big bedroom, everything was clean and well cared for. Had the Sunday Brunch and...

This hotel was built when Florida was very undeveloped in the 20's. The decorations and fixtures date back to that period. Don't let this scare you. Service is excellent and the personnel is extremely nice. It's been run as a Hospitality school. I highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area. Buffet breakfast on Sundays is excellent also....

Had the opportunity to stay at this old hotel in central Florida. Folks were nice, place was clean and everything worked. I was in the seashell room with a balcony. Light blue and white colors dominated the paint job. Had an old hand crank elevator which was fun. It was a nice change from all the chain hotels for me....

We have been regulars for the Jacaranda lunch buffet and decided to try the limited time evening buffets. We went for the Friday seafood buffet and we're not disappointed. The evening buffet is Monday through Friday, January 4 - April 8. Our party of 8 had reservations (suggested) and were seated quickly. As usual everything was perfect, the tables were...

I loved this hotel. Beautiful and decorated still from Christmas. We ate in the hotel restaurant, nice buffet great price. Rooms here are very nice also and just the right price. I understand that the Christmas decorations come down Jan. 25th and then the hotel goes into major decorations for Valentines day! I am thinking about again staying here. This...

The glory days of the Jacaranda may be in the past, but they are doing a good job of keeping it going and maintaining a sense of grandeur. In this day and age, and location, it could easily have become a white elephant or closed down completely. Part of the deal to keep it going is that one wing is...

The decorations are just amazing. We were not staying here-just 45 women from Arcadia came for lunch. They accommodate large groups all the time and had several this day. There were no issues, no glitches-all went well. The food is not spectacular, but is good and more flavorful than 2 years ago when I was last here. I understand that...

Thank you for your review. Glad you enjoyed your lunch with your group. As far as being a Culinary school. We do have a culinary school in our building. But they do not make our food or desserts. (except on advertised occasions) We have our own chefs that make items for the restaurant.

while the hotel is most attractive in the lobby with Christmas decorations, once you get to your room, it's a different story. old, worn down appearance with poor water pipes. we had no hot water most of our stay. the a/c fan blew so loud, it was difficult sleeping. the toilets didn't have a top to lean back on. one...

Thank you for your review. After talking to our desk manager I was told the only things she was aware of was the hot water in the sink. That was repaired during your stay and the charges that happen somewhere else. That she offered to contact our local police help you with. Thank you for staying with us and hope...
