Las Terrazas Resort is often celebrated for its array of amenities, including a praised pool, beach access, and water sports equipment, alongside the comfort of its rooms equipped with fridges and coffee makers. While the atmosphere is generally appreciated, especially with complimentary birthday decorations, there is a sentiment among some travelers that the rooms could benefit from modernization. The service at the resort is consistently lauded for its helpful and friendly staff. Despite the high regard for cleanliness and attentiveness, guests have called out the resort's value, suggesting that the cost may be steep relative to the overall experience.

We, a family of five with children aged 8 and 17, spent nearly two weeks in San Pedro at Las Terrazas. This is a wonderful resort with an excellent pool and beach. The staff is very friendly and warm, including the restaurant staff, the guy on the beach (highly recommend sailing with him), and the ladies at the reception. By the way, after checking out, we forgot some items in the room, and they quickly sent them to us for free via a local airline while we were waiting for our flight at the airport. Phenomenal! The rooms are large and spacious, and the service is excellent. The town is about 20 minutes away, so rent a golf cart – it’s the main mode of transportation on the island and a great experience.

We were staying in a suite on the top floor of one of the buildings, and it was spectacular, which included our own soaking pool. We spent a lot of time at the resort, so we really got to experience all they had to offer. The main pool was great, and the servers would bring your drinks and food to the pool or the beach. We called ahead and asked them if they could decorate for our friend that was arriving before us as we were celebrating her birthday. When we arrived, they had decorated with balloons, a banner and a cake. It was such a great addition to the accommodations. They had nightly turn down service, and daily cleaning which they replenished our water bottles free of charge (well more like did not charge us extra) The food on property was a little pricey, but overall, very good. We also took advantage of the spa, and the massages were just what we needed after all of the activities we did while staying in Belize.

Nice quiet hotel, 20 minutes away from the bustle of San Pedro. The room was nice with space for everyone. You cannot drink the water despite previous information provided. Went to a local market and bought water to store in the fridge. The pool is cooler than the ocean which is a reprieve, the beach is combed daily to remove the dead seagrass. Bring water shoes and a keen eye as we saw tarpons, sting rays, many colorful fish from the beach and the dock. There are hammocks in the beach, kayaks, paddle boards for use. We kayaked to the buoy to snorkel. We recommended to Bring your own snorkel as the gear is weathered, and use the sea kayak or paddle boards over the clear kayaks.
The staff are amazing. Thank you especially to Joffet and Steven (capt). As well as Jerond for always bringing happiness and positivity to every day.

I was part of a lovely wedding at Las Terrazas Resort where we thought this weekend was going to be magically unforgettable with a nice vacation but this is our first time getting a bad experience. When we arrived we were greeted nicely by the staff except for one front desk. Our first night we called to the front desk that we needed some extra sheets the lady said in 10minutes or less I instructed her for housekeeper to leave it on the master bedroom; we came back from dinner nothing was left and the office was closed. The next morning the same lady was there we told her and she told us "ugh hmmm okay!!" (with an attitude) we asked her about some excursions which we could book with the resort she gave us some business cards and to let the company know by whom we were sent (which we didn't asked for). Throughout that morning we chilled by the pool we decided to ask for golf carts my friend went and ask and the front desk (Naialey) told her she doesn't have but she can get us a deal from another golf cart company because to her the resorts' golf carts are “expensive” (we didn't ask her for any deal) “she highly recommends to any other guest" thats what she said. We were already furious so my brother in the other room went down and check for golf carts and boom all of a sudden she did had after he gave her a 40USD. I don't know if she was expecting us to give her cash?? Can someone tell me did we needed to pay for such services??? Las Terrazas I don't know if I am still planning to do my wedding at your resort after this experience I am still debating.

We spent a relaxing week at Las Terrazas in Ambergris Caye. We were lucky enough to be at the resort during a very slow week for tourism ( island wide) . At times we felt like we had the resort to ourselves. We got to know the staff by name. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. We had a penthouse suite with a private infinity pool overlooking the well maintained courtyard. Our 3 bedroom, 2 bath suite had a washer, dryer dishwasher and ample amounts of living space for our family of four. Any issues that came up were resolved swiftly. The staff was knowledgeable about the island and gave us lots of good tips about when and where to visit to make the most of our time on the island. Las Terrazas has golf carts available to rent ( which is the best way to get around the island). The price per day is a little steep but you can easily rent a cart from a local rental place and park it in the lot across from the facility. Excursions were easy to plan through the hotel. Although we did plan some independent of the hotel. By doing so we saved some money. La Terrazas has a spa. I enjoyed a full body therapeutic massage and a Belizean facial. I left feeling completely relaxed. The resort has security guards at night so you can feel extra safe on the beach in the early morning while catching the sunrise or enjoying a starlit evening on the beach. The resort has a restaurant with good food including a few vegetarian offerings and non alcoholic drinks like the yummy kiwi fizz. The waitstaff is lovely and they check in often to make sure you have what you need. They will bring your food to you poolside or on the beach. We intend to return.

The staff at Las Terrazas was so friendly and welcoming. Nice location. Good activities on site (Hobbie Cat, Kayaks, SUPs, fishing). Beach is set up nice with cabanas, hammocks and beach chairs. My only complaint was that room service cleaning was mediocre and the room wasn't very well stocked with kitchen equipment. We are not going down to cook meals at home, but we had left overs to reheat and limited pots and pans and utensils. We were there with 4 kids, 8-17 and they had a good time. We spent a lot of time at the pool and lounging on the beach. We would go back again.

Hi ndaluz, thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Las Terrazas Resort. We're glad to hear you were able to make lasting memories with the kids. The next time you join us on Ambergris Caye, please stop by the Front Desk and let us know if we can provide things to help you in your residence's kitchen and we'll make it happen. And the kids will love our new glass bottom kayaks for paddling out to the reef located only 1/4 mile offshore - the first of its kind on the island. Give us a call directly if we can ever offer a returning guest discount to your family. Best, AshleyL

This was an amazing trip! This resort is farther north but very quiet and private. The beach was well groomed, the staff were accommodating and we even witnessed a beautiful wedding on the beach out front. We stayed in unit 133 which was very spacious and comfortable! We slept so well in the master bed, the AC was great on the hotter days, and we had a washer and dryer in unit. The pool was a hit with all guests. It was big and clean. The pool bar had happy hours everyday with great drinks. There is complimentary kayaks and water sport equipment. We were truly in paradise. Will be planning a trip back in the future.

We spent 3 nights at this resort and it had its pros and cons

Overall it was a nice place and probably had more amenities than others on the Caye.

Pros: pool area was very nice , beach was great and overall the staff was nice and helpful. We didn’t eat at the restaurant but didn’t hear good feedback so we skipped it. Parking staff and front desk was helpful and kind. Our room was on the bottom level and was spacious and had a full kitchen and w/d.

Cons: the smell from the cleaning supplies in our room was overwhelming and awful. We could barely be in the room and had to leave the door open until it cleared out. There was a fee complaint with the hobie cat instructor but management was very helpful to work this out. It was a fun experience but make sure you get confirmation on the fee. The bathroom was very old and needs updating. Do not use the spa service. The gal was lovely but the treatment was terrible for $100. I was very disappointed. The spa room was old and not spa like at all and the massage table was so uncomfortable I could barely get up afterwards.

We met some fun people here which made the few days we stayed enjoyable. The beach was quiet and the location to San Pedro and the Secret Beach area was good and kind of mid point.

Pre-arrival: So helpful and quick email response! I had a million questions about excursions, rooms, and how exactly to get to the resort- they were always prompt with their email responses answering all of my questions. They even booked my flight, ferries, and taxis, to get to and from the resort from BZE which was incredibly helpful. They also booked some excursions for us, one that picked us up right from the dock there.

Once There: Our trip here was great and the staff was always above and beyond. We had a wheelchair accessibility issue when we arrived and the staff built us a ramp to the room within 20min, incredible. They always said hello with smiles, always offered help/services/etc. The grounds were kept clean and the rooms were beautiful. They gave us a printout of restaurant recommendations and had security monitor all the golf carts which we took back and forth into town and exploring the island.

Only Negative: The only negative part of the stay was the slow dinner service at O, verrry 'island time'. But the food was too good, each and every meal.

As someone who seldom travels outside the US I appreciated the level of organization provided by the resort. All transportation was handled from leaving Belize International until the return. Transportation on the Island is by golf cart and the resort simplified the acquisition and return. Quality of the facility was excellent and the pool was especially nice. The staff was equal parts friendly, accommodating and professional. Looking forward to a return.

Hi Larry, Thank you for spending your 4 days on Ambergris Caye with us! We believe that Belize is an amazing place to visit - the beautiful turquoise water and 2nd largest barrier reef system in the world is in our front yard, and ancient civilization is in our backyard. For guests such as yourself who don't often travel internationally, you will find Belize easy to navigate: English is the official language, with Spanish spoken widely; the US dollar is accepted most places (although you might receive your change in Belize dollars); the exchange rate is a simple 1:2 with the USD; and outlets are the same as in the US. Ambergris Caye is easy to navigate but golf cart (there are no rental cars on the island). And although downtown San Pedro is only 3 streets wide, there are a plethora of restaurants, beach bars, and shopping opportunities. Las Terrazas Resort's onsite Concierge is available to guests during the planning stages and once you arrive to the island to assist with transfers from BZE international airport and to arrange exciting tours and excursions. Larry, we thank you for taking the time to leave your thoughts on your stay and look forward to welcoming you home again to Las Terrazas Resort. Please reach out directly when planning your next trip so that we may offer you our Return Visitor discount. Warm Belizean wishes, Las Terrazas Resort Management

Hi Hillary, Yes, you can most definitely walk into the ocean from here. Guests who stayed with us in the past had a different experience, but we have made improvements to the beach to better serve our guests. First off, Las Terrazas Resort has the island's only Surf Rake, which removes the sargassum and debris from the beach, shakes out the sand, and leaves the beach clear. Due to this machine, we were able to remove the sea wall and now guests are able to walk straight out into the water. The beach and pool have brand new loungers (as of December 2023). And remember our private cabanas are complimentary to all guests. Please reach out through our website if we may answer any other questions for you! Las Terrazas Management

Relax did a fantastic job of summarizing the nearby restaurants. Our guests can also request a list of recommended restaurants at the Front Desk - and we would be happy to make reservations at onsite O Restaurant or any of the other island eateries. I would also add that Secret Beach is a golf cart drive away on the north side of the island, which has many different beach bar and grills, with picnic tables actually in the water. Lots of fun.
