My seventh trip to San Pedro staying at Pedro's was another wonderful experience. If you don't want clean, well-appointed accommodations, air-conditioning, the fastest and most reliable Internet in Belize, a great pub on site with the best pizza, or friendly staff, then Pedro's is not...More
We planned to stay at Pedro's after seeing its low price in Lonely Planet. However, once we arrived on the island and saw the hostel AND the plethora of other BETTER options, we immediately changed our plans!

I booked a room at San Pedro's using credit card points. The staff were really friendly and it was convenient to have a bar and restaurant at the hotel, though we never actually ate any food there, so can't comment on the quality there.

Yes, you can ask for a quiet room. Contact the hotel now with your request as March is a busy time of year. The phone number and email address is on their website. They will also give you the cost of a golf cart (when I was there last it was $25 a day) and you can get anywhere on the island with one. You can also rent a bike and get most places on that. No mosquito net is needed but you do need mosquito spray, with deet. Pedro's is one block off the beach and you can snorkel of two docks that are within 1/4 mile of the hotel. You can snorkel there at any time. To get to the coral reef, about a mile off shore, you will need to go with a tour-contact Seaduced. Pedro's can set all that up for you.
