Ramon's Village Resort garners appreciation for its blend of tropical allure and Belizean style, with its prime location being a highlight for guests who enjoy the easy access to local attractions. The hotel's cleanliness and well-maintained amenities receive commendations, despite occasional Wi-Fi issues and dated elements. While some travelers suggest earplugs due to noise from nearby streets, the overall atmosphere and reasonable pricing contribute to its reputation for good value. However, service quality has received mixed reviews, with instances of inconsistency noted.

We traveled to Belize with 7 couples and we all enjoyed our stay at Ramon's in Ambergris Caye. We took full advantage of all of the snorkeling opportunities as well as the beach, dock, pool and restaurant. It was very convenient to be in the middle of the action where we could walk to many restaurants as well as stores. Everyone there travels with golf carts and we were able to rent those from Ramon's and see a bit more of the Caye, including a day at Secret Beach. The rooms are set up as tropical huts, which was a very nice setting unlike some of the nearby high rises. While our "deluxe" room was very manageable, it was definitely smaller than the picture online portrayed it and I would not say the bedspread or furnishings rated a "deluxe". The deck was nice to sit out on and the AC worked well so we were always cool. For some of the couples, however, their rooms were much noisier than mine, depending on their location. The resort is literally across the street from the airport and the planes start flying at about 5am and are very frequent. If your room is near the street, you also get the noise from trucks and other vehicles. I guess the earplugs provided in the room were a hint! The restaurant was excellent and we enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner there many of the days. We did spend some time in the bar area (big screen TV with lots of football games), but we thought it was odd that they only served beer, wine, and virgin mixed drinks. No hard liquor was available. The beach is the nicest in the area and the staff spent most of the day raking and carting away the sea grass, to keep it clean. The pool was also very nice and the water was so warm and soothing. The staff, for the most part, was also attentive, busy, and nice. We especially enjoyed the waiter, Jack, who knows facts about every U.S. state and loves to recite them. We definitely enjoyed our stay and would recommend Ramon's, with the caveat of the airplanes overhead.

This is one of the few places you can stay in San Pedro that keeps the culture of Belize at the forefront of their look/feel... a lot of other places seem to be competing with the look/feel of Cancun resorts. The jungle feel makes you feel like you are in your own oasis, it has the best beach access, and the best part: the location is PERFECT.... you can walk to/from the airport easily... downtown San Pedro is steps away, incredible restaurants are close by, you really are in the center of everything. They have their own restaurant, excursions, incredible dock with snorkeling, pool, beach, golf cart rentals, everything you could possibly need during your stay. It is nice to have all the toiletries provided in the rooms and beach towel service so its less items needed to pack. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. If this is your first time visiting, I honestly think this resort is the perfect place for you. Very laid back with every island amenity you could possibly want all while keeping the beauty of Belize in tact with the Mayan look/feel. It really is one of the most gorgeous places to stay.

With all this in mind, I have to share a few details that I'm sure people will want to know and take into consideration. None of these are issues that I feel should deter people from booking, but I do think they are important to know. 1) Alcohol is ONLY beer and wine and billed separately. No liquor, so no vacation pina coladas or margaritas, which may bother some people. They do have incredible fresh fruit smoothies though if you want to add your own rum. Even at the restaurant, it is separate billing for beer/wine which is a bit odd to me. 2) The booking process is old school having to email your credit card information and no real follow-up after booking. I've been to San Pedro many times, so I know and trust Ramon's however, if this was my first time experiencing booking a hotel in San Pedro, I would definitely be turned off with that process. 3) Noise: Because the location is within walking distance to the airport, you can hear the engines from 7:00am to approximately 11:00pm (plane maintenance is necessary, so I completely understand engines having to run that late) the thatch roofs provide an incredible look/feel, but they do not block noise so you can hear the engines from the airport/hanger and you can also hear the club above the grocery store next door. They DO provide earplugs in your room which I'm assuming is for the noise level. Despite these issues, I highly recommend Ramon's and look forward to future stays here.

My mom and I stayed here for 5 nights when the potential threat of Hurricane Beryl hitting the small island was looming. Fortunately, it went further north but the hotel kept us updated daily with notices and we felt completely safe knowing they were working to ensure the safety of their staff and visitors.

We stayed across the street in their sister property, Steve & Becky’s. Our property replicated little British colonial buildings while most of the resort had a more jungle feel with places looking like huts. What I really loved about the resort is that there was plenty of shade from the sun and lots of little spots.

We went during low season and with the hurricane pending, I loved that the resort wasn’t crowded. Ramon’s village offers a very intimate and family feel.

Both the restaurant Pineapples and juice/smoothie bar Tropic were amazing. Definitely make sure you order the traditional Belizean dish at the restaurant with stewed chicken.. it was delicious.

There are two pools, one main one and one small one at Steve & Becky’s. The resort is also right off the beach offering breathtaking views.

Be sure to treat yourself to the Beach Spa. We had the Island Escape spa treatment and it was pure relaxation as you are getting massaged right in a hut off the beach.

Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Everything was great. The ONLY reason for a 4 star versus 5 was the view from our room. It really was an eye saw as we were placed right by what looked like a lot full of garbage and trash and one night around 9:45 pm, there was some sort of work done that was making loud noise.

Rooms were decent, clean. We were pleasantly surprised that the rooms were equipped with a refrigerator, microwave and iron with iron board.

Overall, if you are looking for a more local, intimate, family feel this is the place to book. Thank you Ramon’s Village, you were amazing!

Where to begin? I have so many positive things to say - the staff was amazing. EVERYONE, from the front desk clerks, to the restaurant staff, to the smoothie bartenders, to the housekeeping staff, grounds workers, security... literally every single person was helpful, polite, attentive and really just seemed to enjoy their jobs. The resort itself is so special, the tropical grounds, the "Belizean" bungalows, the pristine beach and gorgeous pool - this is not your "Marriott Resort" with 4,000 people trying to save beach chairs at 6:00 a.m. This is a truly magical experience and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
My ONLY note would be that the mattress in our room was incredibly soft and I had difficulty sleeping on it.

Ramon’s is as much a diving and aquatic adventure style resort as a family beach front resort, but the nicest, cleanest, and best maintained ocean front ‘divers’ resort I’ve ever been to. It’s literally next to the small airport and across the road to the town of San Pedro, but you’d never know it; their lush tropical gardens and palm trees offer complete insulation from the bustling community a few dozen yards away. To a person the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. If you’re a Ritz-Carlton or bust kind of traveler you may want opt to spend at least 2x more and be 30 minutes north of town, but you’d be missing a gem of a resort.

We went to San Pedro with some of our friends and stayed at Ramon's for a week. The staff was amazing and never more than an earshot away. After talking to some of them, many have been working at Ramon's for a long time. That's tells you something. The grounds were immaculate and very islandy. I loved the winding river pool . There is only beer and wine but they have a smoothie bar. So just get your own liquor at duty free in airport and spike it into your smoothie! The beds were quite comfy and housekeeping did a good job of eliminating the sand on the floor that we somehow seemed to drag in daily. My only complaint was the overhead lighting in the room. Very bright. No lamps. But when i mentioned it at the front desk, They said it was intentional because they had had an electrical fire a few years ago and were being as cautious as possible . We ate at the restaurant a few times. Very big portions. I loved the atmosphere but could not really rave about anything i had to eat. Just okay...
I loved the hammocks on the beach and was impressed by how hard the employees worked to get rid of the sargassum on the beach. It was a never ending battle. I would definitely stay here. The location was awesome. And it had a uniqueness that speaks volumns( in my opinion) over the newer plush resorts. More authentically island-like.

We stayed here a few weeks ago for our honeymoon in a standard jungle king. It was perfect for us and the hut was so cute. We liked sitting on our patio and relaxing, it really did feel like a jungle. The A/C worked really well and we liked having a mini fridge, microwave and wifi so we could watch movies on our Ipad at night. We stayed 7 nights and did the breakfast package, which was delicious. So many amazing breakfast choices to pick from, the food was 10/10. The staff always went above and beyond. The grounds are beautiful plus the beach area. We liked this hotel the most out of any that we saw when we were there. The rooms are a true Belize vibe, they aren't modern like an all inclusive, but they were beautiful and clean in their own charming way! The location was perfect, close to every thing. The staff worked hard to ensure the beach was clean every day, my husband and I think the beach area/ pier was the nicest on the island. You could walk on the diving peer, swim, and see fish/ sting rays just from looking down into the clear water! The pool was a bit small, but it was perfect and actually a bit bigger then the photos make it seem. They recently added a heater so the water felt like a bath and was amazing! I went in it many times and even in the evening. It truly felt like we were in a movie when we walked through the hotel paths to get to our room, pool, etc. Small grounds so very easy to walk. We can't wait to return someday. I miss it already!!! I am so happy I booked here and our honeymoon was everything we had dreamed of.

Absolutely delightful hotel! Exceptionally clean, great location, quiet, good amenities, comfortable beds, unlimited hot water, heater pool, beautiful grounds, clean beach, delicious food, great service! I can’t say anything bad about Ramon’s. They even left a small broom and dust pan in the room to sweep up the sand from the beach. The room was stocked with toiletries, had lots of storage, a nice front porch with comfortable chairs to sit and relax and comfortable beds. We had a seaside room and were steps from the beach. The hammocks and beach chairs were comfortable. We were there at Christmas and the decorations were adorable. The resort has really thought of everything and is tastefully done. The dive center and dock were helpful and flexible with snorkeling and fishing excursions. The restaurant is called pineapples and had delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner options. We never had a bad meal! We loved our stay and hope to be back again.

Stayed here for a week last week, and loved everything about the place. We had a "jungle king" palm thatched cabana. Loved the privacy. Our private porch was great. It was awesome to sit there in the morning with a cup of coffee and listen to the birds. Our room had a coffee maker, small fridge, microwave, and safe. The restaurant " pineapples" served terrific food, and I thought it was reasonably priced. The pool was "cool" because it was totally in the shade, but so refreshing after sitting on the beach in the sun. The staff at Ramon's works diligently every day to keep the seaweed at bay. There are plenty of beach chairs. We loved the beach hammocks. You can rent golf carts on sight by the hour. There is also a dive center on site. We are not divers, but we were able to book snorkel and fishing excursions on site when we got there at reasonable prices. A special shout out to Jack and Charlie in the restaurant, Jose at the front desk, and Juanita our housekeeper. They all did a great job !!!!! My only complaint is that the resort only serves beer and wine. There are a couple of liquor stores within walking distance where you can buy your own liquor. Can't wait to come back to Ramon's.

I stayed at Ramon's almost thirty years ago and then again this holiday. I still love this place. The staff is so nice and always willing to help. You cannot have a bad trip if you stay here.

The rooms are large and have refrigerators. You can get clean beach towels at the front desk as often as you like, go to their cute spa, take a chair or hammock on the beach or sit by the pool. You really cannot go wrong.

Smoothies and coffee available (very good). Food was good for hotel food and snacks by the pool rocked (nachos for example).

Still the same great dive shop. Booked tours there and loved the folks who took us out. Ask for David he went the extra mile. Was surprised to see a familiar face...Rick who has worked there for years.

Ok, if a have a Ramon's you could improve this would be to do tropical drinks not just beer and wine.
