The room once we checked was dirty and smelled mouldy. NO DOOR LOCKS!! You are at the mercy of the owner. We told him we had no door lock and he said that none of the rooms do. The owner drinks a lot at the bar and gets very drunk. He becomes abusive when drunk. His pizza was good though. We found roaches in the room and did not want to stay there anymore but he would not give us a refund so we left early. We saw him abuse his staff while there. Would we stay there again-NEVER!!

Just wanted to say what a great job the staff did at this hotel. Housekeeping, front desk, everything. The owner even hooked me up with all the flight detail arrangements for my trip to Roatan HN. What a character! Best value in San Pedro for $50 US approx. A night. Rooms were not luxurious but for the price, hot Water and AC. Common, great deal

I was traveling solo and booked a bit last minute. Pedro’s still had availability. This is a basic hotel with no frills but was just what I needed as I was in San Pedro for diving mostly. Not far from the center but you might want to rent a golf cart to get around. They do have a restaurant that had good pizza and the front desk people were very helpful and friendly. They will help you book tours too.

Pedro's is all set up to be a great budget hotel. Its a short walk from downtown. The neighborhood can be noisy but that is standard for Belize and did not bother me at all. The rooms were simple but were clean and had plenty of space. There is NO lock on the doors from the inside. For that reason I only stayed one night. I did not notice until 8pm (desk was closed) of my first night that the door lock didn't latch. I found a PVC pipe that could be used to jam the door shut, which would be a great backup to a functioning door lock. I looked for staff to ask about fixing the lock or changing rooms and I was told none of the doors have locks and the PVC pipe is it. It was too late to change hotels and I had a group of men watched me go into my room, joking "i'll be your security guard". Its was unnerving. When the PVC pipe is placed, the door still opens about 1/2" and can be tiled to open about 1", wide enough to pry it open all the way with some force. I was thankful to get a refund for my second night and did not stay there. Both Megan at the front desk and Diane at the bar were amazing and very understanding. I told the owner Peter about this afterwards but he has yet to respond and I found reviews from back in 2017 detailing the same concern. Seems like he is in no rush to fix it. Unless locks are put on the doors in the inside of the rooms, I cannot recommend staying here. Especially as a solo female traveler. I hope Peter makes this necessary ASAP and then this would be an ideal budget hotel on San Pedro. I have attached photos of how much to door can be opened when "locked" with the PVC.

My husband and I stayed here and were pretty disappointed. We are pretty easy going and don’t have high expectations when travelling specially when we book somewhere on the cheaper end. When we arrived there it was really quiet which we thought was odd based on things we have heard and the staff was very nice but when we went to our room were shocked. It was so dark and dingy and smelt very musty. The bed was half made and there was a small bag of garbage on the dresser. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned and the soap from the previous guest was still inside the shower. We never mentioned anything to hotel because we don’t spend any of our vacation in our room anyway and we just had a long day of travelling and just wanted to go find food and a drink to relax. but looking back now we probably should have and I’m sure they would have done something. Like I said before we are not picky people but we would definitely not stay here again and we would definitely not recommend it. Sorry

Awesome affordable accommodation in San Pedro, we stayed here for three nights and had access to the pool, air conditioning in our room and fast wifi. Laundry is available here too and the staff will take it and look after it for you. We were travelling with our 10 month old son and there was room enough in the king bed for all three of us. A short walk away from the bustling town and the water.

I came here on a whim as I was needing some R&R. A friend suggested San Pedro, and being a solo traveler, I wanted something easy enough to get to and close enough to things so I wouldn't be bored or feel too far from activities. Pedro's was a hit for me. It provided everything I needed - a clean private room and everything was fine. Once I got used to the area, it was easy for me to navigate around to the different spots. I didn't rent a golf cart as I prefer to see the area by foot and it's nice to chat with the people that you see on the island. Everyone was extremely helpful and remembers you by name, which is a plus. I'd like to specifically recognize Jerrilee for being so funny and helpful during my stay. I came here on a whim and truly fell in love with the island. I'll definitely return (even spoke to a realtor!)
