Detailed Reviews
It took me a long time to get around to writing this review but I felt I had to come back because it deserves one. This review is from 2019. The owner is a wonderful woman who is kind and courteous.
I have been to Caye Caulker four times and this is my favorite place to stay. I wish I would have found it the first or second time around. It is in a perfect location which allows you to explore and view the entire island. They offer free bikes to move around the island. Other hotels do not offer this and you need to go and rent them elsewhere for a cost.
As far as cleanliness this gets 5 stars. The staff takes every piece of furniture out cleans and disinfects the room. If they did this before Covid I could only imagine the owner being more strict with sanitation now. So if you are looking for a clean spot you won't find anything better in my opinion.
This is one of the only hotels that had hot water. Other hotels say they do but they don't always. So taking a shower was much more enjoyable than other hotels. The bathroom is spacious which was easy to get ready in. The bedroom was the perfect size and bed was comfortable. The air conditioning is great. The room didn't get super hot. If you are not used to the caribbean weather like myself you can be assured that you will sleep well and not being sweating all night. Other hotels lock out their AC units at a certain temperature. If you decide to get food or a case of beer they have refrigerators and freezers. This helps if you need to freeze anything you decide to bring home such as lobster or fish.
They have nice hammocks and patio chairs for relaxing. The dock is beautiful which also has hammocks to sit out on while being right over the ocean. They offered snorkeling masks that are sanitized. *These are not the masks you put into you mouth.* My husband and I put the snorkeling masks on and swam around Colindas dock as well as it's neighbors. We were able to see many different fish. I even thought I saw more fish their than I did on a snorkeling trip.
In case you were wondering where else I stayed I have stayed at Magic Island, China Town, and Enjoy. Non of these hotels compare.

At the very end of the street on the east coast, and we highly recommend it. It was clean and quiet and everyone was helpful and friendly. There are several different room configurations to choose from and they’re well described on their website. We didn’t get our first choice – someone snagged it earlier the same day! – but were happy with the room we did have, #12. It had a frig, coffee maker (and coffee!), and filtered water. The room wasn’t huge but it was large enough, and the spacious bathroom had a table handy for dishes, laundry, and toiletries. And plenty of space to hang wet things in the bathroom and on the private deck. There was air conditioning though we never needed to turn it on. And while the decor isn’t something we care about when traveling, the wood ceiling in our room was really cool, and the conch shells they put over the solar lights on the dock were too. Bicycles and a lock are included with each cabin and you have the option to have them stock cold Belikan for when you arrive. Genius! At the seafront are plenty of chairs, hammocks, and sun loungers to choose from onshore and on the dock. There’s a ladder at the end of the dock so you can get in the water.
Juan, Kari, and everyone else was very friendly and helpful. Including our fellow guests, who recommended snorkel tours and restaurants! Would love to return.

We stayed here because the price was great and they offered the use of their snorkeling equipment, bikes, and golf cart. The cabanas are cute and no frills but nice; enough room for my friend and I. The owner and manager were very accommodating to us with an extra fan, fixing our fridge at night, and letting us keep luggage in the office while we did things waiting for the ferry to San Pedro. The first night we got back to the property, we looked up and the stars were amazing to look at sitting on their pier.

We had such a great holiday in Caye Caulker staying at Colinda Cabanas. It was so wonderful to have the bikes for the week and be able to bike every where. The cabanas are very clean and well-maintained as are the grounds.
We stayed in cabana 6 and 8 which were both great -- 6 being closer to the beach was a nice feature. It was one of the most relaxing holidays with great weather, delicious food from either the restaurants or the many street vendors. There is also a fantastic bakery on the Island.
The staff, Juan the manager and his wife Emilita and the owner herself, were such kind and thoughtful people. They would bend backwards to help you and were a wealth of information on where to go, what to do and see on the island. The use of the kayaks was a huge bonus and it was great fun kayaking; or just reading a book on the dock. There are lots of weeds in the water and I wasn't keen on the swimming but it didn't seem to stop other guests.
We were told there was good snorkelling on the island but in our opinion, it was much better to take a half or full day snorkelling boat tour. There are a couple of restaurants that are positioned perfectly for watching the beautiful setting sun.
Another surprise that we didn't expect is that the island is far more touristy than we expected but it was really only a small part of the island itself.
The ferry over took 45 minutes (buy a return ticket) and the taxi from the ferry is about a half hour drive.
We want to go back even though other places are calling us. It was the ultimate relaxation that is so appealing to return to. It is quiet and yet close to the downtown area. There is a guard at Colinda during the night and we never felt unsafe anywhere on the island. The people were lovely and friendly.

Wonderful friendly staff who were willing to help with anything we wanted to do. Loved the rooms with well stocked kitchens and having a tv with channel choices for the evening wind down was a bonus. We were told ahead that the food was great in Belize but I have no words..............the food is amazing!!! Our big splurge was dinner with 3 lobster tails for well under $25. Also we set it up ahead to have some drinks and groceries stocked in our fridge for when we arrived and that was so nice not to have to worry about a few staples that first couple days. The views are gorgeous, even snorkellng right under the Colinda's dock was so fun with lots of colorful fish right there, see pictures. Snorkel equipment, kayaks and bikes are supplied for guests for free, they think of everything. We did fishing and snorkeling excursions and they helped us book them. They even had someone clean the fish we caught and delivered them to our room. Can't wait to go back soon. You can book directly on Colinda Cabanas website and see the extras you can order for your room.

We loved our stay at Colinda Cabanas. We had the upstairs #2 unit which was oceanfront. If you go here, you want to be oceanfront! The owners are very nice and extremely helpful with everything you need.
Bikes are complimentary as perfect for getting around the island. We enjoyed relaxing on the dock out front and the hammocks.
The location is perfect. Easy to get too and just far away enough to not have any noise from the main hub.
The 5 gallon water cooler, coffee bean and pot and full fridge allowed us to enjoy more time relaxing at the cabana and unwinding.

This place is near prefect, close enough town that getting a meal is easy but not right in the middle of everything. The views were amazing and waking up to the ocean each morning was unforgettable. The dining choices on the island are varied and food is very affordable for a variety of different styles. I did an amazing snorkel trip on my last full day and these were some of the healthiest reefs I have seen in years in the Caribbean.

The communication with Kari, Juan & Emelita prior to my arrival was always prompt, helpful & friendly. I had a lot of questions so this was very important to me. I arrived on Caye Caulker via Tropic Air and the taxi I’d requested was waiting for me with a warm and friendly welcome. It was a very short ride to Colinda Cabanas. Kari cheerfully greeted me and showed me to my unit (#12). She reviewed all of the need to know information and more. I was so impressed with the cleanliness, coziness & decor of the room. All of the grocery items I’d requested were there. I tried the cold Belikin beer immediately and loved it! I chose this room because it had an air conditioner. It worked beautifully! Juan and Emelita sent a text later on to ask if everything was okay and if I needed anything. The room came equipped with a safe, toaster, coffee bean grinder, coffee beans, coffee maker, 5 gallon jug of purified water, dishes, dish soap & towels, complimentary bath soap, shampoo & conditioner, plastic hangers and plenty of drawer space. The bed was comfortable as well. The shower pressure & temperature were perfect. The property is beautiful & well maintained. I felt safe and cared for during my stay. I will definitely return to Colinda Cabanas next year!
P.S. Bring repellent because the sand fleas & mosquitoes are relentless! You can also go to the Red Flower Gallery on the island & buy a homemade repellent called “It Works!” It’s better than OFF!, in my opinion.

Rooms were very clean, dock with various comfy sitting areas was absolutely perfect, the team there was super helpful and friendly. They go above and beyond to make your stay easy and memorable even offering a service to have the food and drink of your choice in your room for when you arrive! They offer assigned complimentary beach cruiser bikes to their guests which we used a lot to explore town, grab a bite to eat, get to and from our excursions, etc. The bikes made the location of Colinda Cabanas super convenient while also “off the beaten track” of the main town area to feel private. We stayed in cabana 2, an upper floor unit right on the water. The proximity of the water to our cabana and private deck overlooking it made possibly the most incredible place we have ever stayed.

This property is the island’s hidden gem. It is tucked away in the end of the island making it a quiet retreat and hideaway. Far enough from the noise of the main drag but close enough to restaurants and bars. What we love about this place is it’s private dock where you can take a dip in the ocean at anytime of the day. The beach is literally a hop, skip and a jump away. We were attended by the top notch staff-Juan and Emelita. Juan will make sure that your stay will be special. From reserving our snorkeling trip, COVID tests, and fresh coconuts in our fridge! The property included two bikes and lock for use to explore the island. The room was super clean, the decor was well thought of. The bed was comfy, sheets were clean and fresh, towels were super fluffy. The AC worked really well on top of the ceiling fan. They even have 5 gallon water for us to refill our water bottles everyday. A small fridge including a toaster and few kitchen essentials ate in the drawer. Juan will give a map and a list of recommended restaurants. Communication with the property is answered promptly and they will even arrange a taxi from the airport to the ferry as well as a golf cart taxi when you arrive in t the island. We love with this place and will consider to stay here again when we return to this paradise island. Stay here, you wont regret it!!!

Hi, it looks like it would not be a problem to park a golf cart at the property but it may not be in front of your unit as the property is narrow and there is not allot of parking space, I would suggest contacting the accommodation. The island is small, we usually took the beach trail back and forth into town as it was a 10-15 minute walk (I also am recovering from knee surgery) and had no issues walking. There are also bicycles that are free to use at each cabina so this is an easy and free way to also get around the island. The taxi golf carts are not expensive either so that is another option.
We paid $5.00 US for a golf cart taxi. It was a life saver since we had heavy luggage! The cabanas ordered one for us on our way to the terminal and there are usually golf carts waiting at the ferrry terminal so you can just grab one when you arrive.
