We had the opportunity to stay at the Banana Bank Lodge on the first night of the Ruta Maya canoe race. We stayed in a large room that slept 6 people; 1 double and three single beds. Nice bathroom, good hot water, and fans (no A/C). The lodge has a nice pool, cool bird aviary (Scarlet Macaw!) and a rescued...

Very interesting Lodge just outside of Belmopan. You need to travel of the main highway about 5 miles down a dirt road. There are lots of rescued birds in large cages that wake up very early in the morning. There is one building within feet of this cage so beware if you are a light sleeper or like to sleep...

(+) Banana lodge is a really isolated place. If you want to come to the Lodge from Belmopan, you better hire a taxi for 25-30 BZD. At the end you come to Belize river and you hit a metal disc with a stone. Then you wait... and wait... and sometimes wait even longer. Until someone would hear your clang and...

John and Carolyn really love the jungle and their animals. They could not have been any nicer and interesting to talk to. John showed us his horse whispering skills in the mess hall. Super fun to watch a guy roll up ON his horse into the mess hall as you are eating breakfast. We did horse back riding with Sherman...

My girlfriend's first trip to Belize and we decided to stay at Banana Bank Lodge for one night. The food was amazing and all the wildlife around the property was a nice touch. Lastly the horseback riding is a must do, beautiful experience for both myself and her. We stayed in the cabana and it was nice and clean and...

We loved our stay at Banana Bank, it was like staying in paradise. Animals and all. It was so peaceful. Until about 7:30 when the parrots and other birds they have on the grounds woke up. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you're wanting to be lazy and sleep in. You'll miss out on too much. We had dinner with...

If you are looking for a luxury resort, look elsewhere. But if you want a family atmosphere with delicious home style cooking, friendly staff and owners, and lots of for nearby tours ($$), this is your place. Think of it more like a very nice camp with nice, clean rooms (some with air conditioning). The food is served at specific...

I have stayed here before and really enjoyed it. Don't expect New York urban refinement. This is Belize. The place is like a sanctuary with horses, a small zoo, a beautiful pool and walks along the river. The rooms are unique and very pivate. I will definitely be coming back here with my wife for the experience, value, hospitality, and...

This was our first trip to Belize so we had no idea what we were booking or where. We wanted to stay a few days inland and the last days on the beach. This was the only place that had availability in our price range and the days we wanted (actually we booked for 2 because that's all we could...
