I visited this property as part of a group and a business meeting. It was an uncomfortable experience that I do not wish for anybody. The rooms are tiny, extremely hot and humid. They overcrowded the rooms with small individual beds to fit the number of participants. Bathrooms are shared. Food is limited to a plate, same with the juice,...

We are very saddened that you did not enjoy your stay at Banana Bank. What we strive for the most is for our guests feel comfortable during their stay regardless if they are here for leisure or for business. I am assuming that you were accommodated in one of our budget rooms. It has been quite hot and humid in...

My sister, Dianne, my niece, Sara Lillian, and I spent 10 days at Banana Bank this year. John, Carolyn, and Lisa were perfect hosts. John entertained us with stories, music, a horse-whispering demo which he ended by taking the horse into the dining room! The staff was accommodating with arranging transportation to side trips and knowledgeable about the area, the...

Great to spend a couple of days. We did the river tour with Luis and Mario. Mario is a bird enthusiast and pointed out the variety of birds we were seeing. They also pointed out bats, holler monkeys, alligator, and more. Very scenic experience. Restaurant on the grounds too with good food. Have a jaguar and many exotic birds in...

A lovely location but the whole place in need of some updating Not a particularly welcoming arrival but very peaceful apart from a large group of fervent religious loud and intrusive Americans ( so check who else might be there before booking.) The Riding is lovely as is the pool. However the food is somewhat basic and as you are...

It has to start with the owners/hosts, Carolyn and John Carr. Warm, wonderful people who essentially invite you into their home which is practically a fantasy jungle setting. The family style meals are excellent and dining with your hosts and fellow guests from around the world is a treat to look forward to 3 times a day. From the front...

I came here on the advice of a friend as a 'passing through' stop on the way to southern Belize. Of all the places I stayed in this country, this was my favorite because of the unexpected charm/beauty/hospitality and uniqueness of the family style dining. ($15 US per person.....breakfast comes w the room ). The proprietors were VERY friendly. Our...

Set a few miles off the main highway down a well groomed gravel road, this charming property was a great spot for a night as we made our way around the country of Belize. Our room was what I expected - not luxury, but clean, spacious and comfortable. The sheets on the bed were some of the softest I have...

You'll awaken to the sounds of howler monkeys and macaws. Roam the grounds, and you'll see horses, exotic birds, monkeys, and even a pet jaguar (in a very large cage). Meals are served "family style" in the dining hall, where you'll meet fellow visitors from around the world. I was traveling solo, and there were always other folks with whom...

Arrived late in the day in Novemeber, the horses were fighting and it was raining (inside the unhygenic accomodation). The pictures are hugely unrepresentaive! The Jaguar in its cage looked as miserable as me. Didn't stay, left in the dark and the owners at the excellent Villa San Juan helped us out of a tight spot.
