Just about 2 minutes away/past the center of San Ignacio, we drove into this nice, quiet little place that doesn’t look like much from the street, but had such a quiet, peaceful beauty to the place. We had a mishap with our reservation (or rather hotels.com miscommunicated to the hotel our reservation), but the Windy Hills staff were super accommodating,...

We stayed with Bob at Windy Hill a while ago. It was simply one of the best base camps we've had for our trekking adventure holidays. Their private guide service was simply fantastic and their booking service for adventures like the ATM Cave, top notch. They even helped set up our two day excursion into Tikal in Guatemala making sure...

Stayed at the Windy Hills March 18/19, 2015 and loved this place. Staff extremely helpful and accommodations were well suited to our travelling needs! The grounds were well manicured and we never had any concerns over safety and security. Went cave tubing with resort guide Josiah Lemus and were treated exceptionally well! Very knowledgeable young man who gave us a...

I am so happy we chose Windy Hill as our vacation abode! We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and shown to our cozy cottage. There were five people in our party - our cottage had 2 double beds and 1 single bed. Clean and rustic - not really any bugs or dirt at all! We were able to park our...

We stayed at Windy Hill Resort for three nights. Our little cottage had two full sized beds which were decorated with fresh flowers. This was a sweet touch to the rustic flavor of the room. It had a small table and two chairs, a rocking chair, tv and air-conditioner. There was no microwave, coffee pot or small refrigerator so you...

We had a fantastic three night stay at Windy Hill. The "resort" is basically a collection of small, rustic cottages, along with an open-air bar and restaurant, connected by winding paths on a sprawling plot of lush land. It's a 10 min ($5 USD) cab from the bustling center of town, just long enough that it feels tucked away and...

After staying a couple nights in San Ignacio we moved to the outskirts of town and the Windy Hill Resort (roughly 3km from city center) and immediately had the feeling of, "oh now this is a vacation." The property is spacious, with a beautiful pool and bar area with pool and ping pong tables. They also have a gym. The...

Don't expect hotel chain American standards here. The cottages were comfortable for our stay in late Feb, so no air conditioning was needed. You must drive from this location to town, so not walking distance. Windy Hill is difficult to find since there are no street signs so the staff at Windy Hill was very helpful in guiding us via...

Fortunately, our travel agent recommended this resort since he had visited here himseslf. We purchased a 5-day, all-inclusive package and were not disappointed. The staff did everything in their power to be sure we had everything we needed. They provided the best tour guides and booked our tours/events through the best providers in the area. Anyone wishing to visit western...

My wife and I stayed at Windy Hill for a two nights in February 2015. Windy Hill is significantly cheaper than the jungle lodges in the area, and offers a different experience. The site is easily accessible, sitting just outside San Ignacio on the Western Highway, with the obvious downside of a bit of traffic noise. Our cabin was large...
