This to me was a 3 star Hotel for 2 star price. From the start it was easy to book and my questions were answered promptly. Top things about the property: 1.) Really clean rooms with no bugs. 2.) Comfortable bed. 3.) A/C. (Maybe should be #1) 4.) Great common area for relaxing, having a drink and even smoking a... More

I booked this last minute due to trip changes caused by Hurricane Matthew and I'm very glad I did. I stayed for 4 nights and would like to pass along the following. Room: Very clean, comfortable bed, solid A/C unit that I actually had to turn down a few times as it was pretty cold and I like a cold... More

All things considered, this was a great place to stay. San Ignacio was not on our original Belize agenda, but due to the pending arrival of hurricane Earl, our school group was evacuated from our homebase location and made the drive to San Ignacio. The hotel was being run at the time by friends of the owners, and they did... More

My husband and I were thrilled to find the air conditioning in our room after not having it at the last location we had stayed in another town. The owner was quick to respond to our email inquiry initially, and the hotel staff were just lovely when we arrived. This is centrally located to San Ignacio's attractions, but it is... More

Rooms were the best we've had during our whole trip! Very affordable for what you get. Management is very friendly and informative. We arrived on a holiday weekend and couldn't get into the hotel we wanted to. They suggested Tia Maria and I'm really glad they did. This hotel has wifi, cable tv, comfortable beds, great a/c, very clean rooms.... More

The owner is so friendly and so kind and generous to everyone she meets and will help you with anything. The room We stayed in was perfect for my grandmother and I, including two beds, running water and an AC!! It's a very safe place to be in San Ignacio.

There are storefronts on the first level of the building and guest rooms on the second. The rooms are spacious and well kept. Air conditioning is available and functional (thank the Lord - it's hot this time of year!) the location is pretty central but just off the tourist track enough to be relatively quiet. (You still might hear dogs... More

I had a wonderful 2 night stay at Tia Maria's Guesthouse. Room 1 was clean, pretty much exactly what you see in the pictures, and mosquito free (Seriously, there was not a single mosquito in my room) . Wifi was strong and available both in the room and in the common area (Granted I was the only guest these two... More

Nice, clean room, quiet, with a shared kitchen and nice veranda to eat, relax, drink a beer. Great location close to the heart of San Ignacio, the restaurants, tour places, bus stop, and market, but not right in the heart of the action.

This is the best place to stay in San Ignacio. The rooms are really nice and spacious, and the location is absolutely perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay as well. They also have a nice veranda which was a great place to relax at the end of the day!

“It's worth getting a room with A/C and spend time on the terrace/common area where you can get to talk with some of the other guests. Full kitchen also available for everyone to use. We used the microwave to make oatmeal for breakfast before leaving out and kept extra water in the fridge. Many of the tours include lunch with fee. Save your money for dinner and drinks!”
