Very very good value for money. When we purchased this we were expecting a hostel type st up given the price, but were pleasently surprised to find we had actually got our own private log cabin. It was in places basic and we even had a frog in the toilet at one point, but it all added to the experience....

We had a great time staying at the Midas. Everyone there was extremly friendly and helpful, i could say we made a few friends while staying there. The owners are usually around and always have a friendly face on, the hotel staff are just the best they helped us with whatever we needed. We got a packaged deal and that...

Stayed here after reviewing the ruins. It has a nice pool, the rooms were comfortable, had a/c, nice bar by the pool with music, ordered nachos poolside. Nice location to see lots of birds in the nearby trees. Would stay here again.

Besides the fact that the air conditioner doesn't work well, breakfast is not included, the beds are not comfortable and everything is extremely over priced, the only thing that made this hotel good was the pool. It is a few blocks from town, not too far to walk but when it is 130 with the heat index, 3/4 of a...

Hi Michele I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience at Midas. The house keepers usually report when the air conditioning unit is not working but due to humidity you never know when something will malfunction. I can 100% guarantee that you had informed the front desk we had giving you another room immediately. Majority of our beds have...

We got the deluxe room . Clean bathroom . Small tv but who watches tv anyways. The properties grounds could use some work but then again so could the town. The place is decent for being where It is. The restaurant food was ok, you could walk to town to find something better. Would we stay again ? Maybe but...

The staff became like family to myself and the group of students I brought. Wonderful service, delicious food, and the best bartender/pool police/tirantula hunter/comedian/friend in Thomas. A quick walk to Saturday market and downtown made it the perfect home away from home for us.

I stay at way more hotels in the United States than abroad. However, when I am abroad -- and particularly in developing countries -- I tend to adjust my ratings to reflect what is possible in that particular country. I tried to compare this very small property with US properties and it most reminds me of the Hilton Garden Inn...

This is a lovely little hotel in San Ignacio, and is the only resort within walking distance to town. Rooms are decent size, plenty of hot water, and very clean. Great A/C, besides ceiling fan, and oscillating fan. Bed was comfortable, TV had plenty of stations. Restaurant on the grounds was good..not great, but not bad. They have a bar,...

I have to say that the folks at the Midas from the front desk to the kitchen crew were super friendly and nice and extremely accommodating. On the first night of the trip, I succumbed to some horrible food poisoning that had me out of pocket for most of the trip. The staff was always asking about how I was...

I stayed as part of a tour group, our room wasn't one of the refurbished rooms with dark panels and a tired bathroom. First thing we were told at check in was the extra cost for air-con. I felt the room was quite depressing. The rooms are in quite established gardens and clos to a river-so thought we might need it...
