Parrot nest is an unforgettable and beautiful place to stay while visiting the pyramids and caves of Belize. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and uplifting. The cabins are basic and that keeps the price low but there was nothing more that I would want or...More
The owner is an interesting, somewhat eccentric but incredibly welcoming and trusting guy. He will help arrange tours and transportation w reputable people /places.
The place is pretty dated, beds are old and rickety. But it's still a super cool experience.

This was our third time staying at the Parrot's Nest. As always, our stay was amazing! Theo and Marcus are warm and welcoming hosts. They go out of their way to accomodate you and are genuinely awesome people that you can share a nice conversation...More

I'm sure they will be welcome, they are very friendly at the Parrot's nest. The crowd at the Parrot's nest changes depending on who is booking. The grounds are clean and the kid would have fun running around, except for the river being right there. Try it for a couple of nights. When experiencing new things, I only book for a couple of nights, then if things don't work out, you are not miserable the whole time. The food is good, they have a washer and I think a dryer and are relatively close to town, but it is too far to walk. They can call you a taxi.

We will be staying at the Lodge in late March, and will be using William's shuttle to get there from the airport. There is a link on the Parrot Nest Lodge website to the shuttle website. Price depends on number of riders, I believe, but for us each way will be just over $150, and is a two-hour trip (each way).
