Some of the best food I had in Belize, even better than much fancier lodges. Marcus is very helpful. This place also just seems to attract interesting, fun people, so dinner here is very enjoyable. Rooms are simple but clean and surprisingly comfortable. A really...More

We only stayed here for 2 nights but I wish it was longer! Waking up in this setting is one of the most peaceful things I've experienced. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious. Marcus and the dogs were so friendly and made our visit complete.

We had a very nice stay here. The owner is super helpful connecting you with drivers and tours. The food is excellent and plentiful. The vegetarian dinners were awesome. The shared shower up the stairs has a slow drip but the other one was fine....More

This lodge is a rare find. It is definitely off the beaten path but sits by a river with funky rooms (actually cottages) and a great dining room. The owner, Theo, is a very gracious hostess, does a lot of the cooking, and is very...More

We are considering staying this spring with another couple and our two young children- ages 15 months and 4 years. I see that the lodge is family-friendly, but will children that young be welcome and appropriate? They are pretty low-maintenance and we are experienced travelers.. but this will be our first overseas trip with them, so appreciate any guidance. Thanks!

I'm sure they will be welcome, they are very friendly at the Parrot's nest. The crowd at the Parrot's nest changes depending on who is booking. The grounds are clean and the kid would have fun running around, except for... More

How do you get from Belize Int'l aiport to the lodge? How much does it cost, how long is the ride and how do you setup a pickup?

How much privacy is there in the shared bathrooms? Are the bathrooms unisex? Is there a place to change clothes in private next to the shower stall, with a place to keep clothes so they don't get wet? Are the toilet stalls closet-like, or quite open at the bottom? Thanks.
