Love love loved this place. It's clean and immaculately kept. It's peaceful and serene yet close to all the fun activities nearby. Penny , the hostess, is priceless no request was too big or too small. The private beach is rare in this area. Along with the pool it was a perfect place to rest and recharge our batteries. Her home made muffins for the continental breakfast every morning were a delicious delight. No amenities were missing in this tropical paradise.

We were two couples who shared the guesthouse. This was good because we could make our own meals in the kitchen. The space is relatively comfortable but if sharing, be aware that there is only one bathroom. The grounds are lovely and it was wonderful to spend a quiet day reading in the hammocks and enjoying the pool. It must be noted that the ocean swimming is not good as it is very shallow for quite a way out and much of the bottom is weed covered. Good for a quick dip but not for real swimming. However it is nice to see the mangroves incorporated into the beach area. Penny was very helpful with suggestions and advice.

Corozal - and Serenity Sands-was our first stop for our "experience Belize" 2023 vacation. And what a great choice it was! We loved the private beach, the beautiful atmosphere and the great personal touches. The owner, Penny, served a delicious breakfast to us each morning and answered so many questions for us about the area. She helped us set up wonderful massages on the beach, provided kayaks for adventure, and even helped us contact others to help us experience the country better. We even made great friends with her sweet dog, Bailey. We enjoyed our stay so much and will go back if we get a chance!

We moved here from a hotel in town, on October 3rd, in order to have a way to cook our own food, access to a pool, and also a beach type area on Corozal bay.. seems like a win-win right? It was anything but that. We checked in and moments later the air conditioner turned off. We believed it would be fixed soon, so it was our mistake to stay. Stay we did up until October 7th. The night of October 6th the power went out at 1:45 in the morning. I thought I was being cooked all night long. I don't know if I've ever been so hot. My nebulizer was useless. No fan, no visit from the owner to let us know that she understood what was going on. It was radio silence until 7:30 in the morning when she let us know that she knew the power was out. Now, Penny was very nice the whole time we were there, however, she did not let us know at all that there was grid power in the room by using two outlets in the kitchen (The guest house is on solar) This would have at least allowed us to keep cool with the fan. We ended up checking out, and moving on to Belize City earlier than we expected. The only bright light to this whole entire reservation, was Bailey the dog. We fell in love with this dog. That's the only positive I have.

We just finished our vacation at Serenity Sands from February 21,2024 to March 9,2024. The resort was everything that we were looking for. Beautiful landscaped property, ocean front and located between Consejo and Corozal. It is a few minutes drive to either town.
We stayed in the guest house that worked out perfect for the 4 of us. Two bedroom, full kitchen and a screened in porch. Very clean. The owner Penny was very helpful with any questions about the area or tourist attractions in the area.
The pool was perfect but the cabana area at the ocean front was fantastic. At night we went to the ocean front to watch the stars.
If your going to tour the Corozal or Consego area I would highly recommend Serenity Sands

Hands down the best sleep I've had most likely in my life. Hubby and I stayed in the Tapir room. Penny went above and beyond to accommodate my dietary needs and helped with dinner when our car stopped working. The property is absolutely gorgeous, peaceful and welcoming. Something about this place allowed me to decompress and relax. Would definitely recommend Serenity Sands and I look forward to staying again!

The property is absolutely beautiful, right on the bay. "B&B" really doesn't describe it, it's more like a private resort. Swimming pool, swimming in the bay. Penny, the host, was so helpful and knowledgeable. She booked things for us and was constantly attentive to our needs. 2 dogs and 5 cats too! Bed and room very comfortable. Couldn't have been better.

Super service from owner throughout our stay. Room with balcony overlooked the beach and water, albeit beyond the long backyard between the B&B and the beach. Location is off the beaten path so not for those who love to be in the middle of all the action of a town or city. Nearby Corozal was ok for dinners out. Penny (owner) will guide you in your dining options and daily activities.

I believe this is the first time I was at total peace. It was so tranquil I was able to think read and force on important things. The property is beautiful and enjoyable to seat for hours and listen to nature; watch the birds play, a few flies, now and then. I saw two boats in the water in a two week period. While the town is a $7. cab away, you can not hear anything but a car or truck passing on the road a couple of times a day.
I loved how the rooster starts the day with a shout out to get up. The 3 dogs let you know when someone come calling. While the cat sometime get in on the action! The parrot make a sound that is different than anything I have ever heard. He has a friend near by that talks back to him.
Look out for the blue birds that fly around in a group, a beautiful royal blue in color.
I didn't get the chance to see the rooms in the main house, since I was staying in the guest house.
The guest house had living and kitchen area with a small bedroom with twin beds; there was also a loft with a large bed in a much larger room; bathroom with shower only, no bathtub.
A large screen in terrace which I spent a lot of time on. Always a breeze passing by.

My husband and I spent our spring break with Penny as we planned our retirement! After buying a lot in Corozal, we had many decisions to be made, and Serenity Sands was the perfect environment to ponder them all. The extensive grounds allowed for good walks and lovely beach/nap times. The impeccable room with a lovely cross-breeze provided excellent rest and reading time. And most of all, the generous conversation and advice from Penny gave us priceless information and memories! And her breakfasts were absolutely, amazingly sumptuous! I think if she had offered dinner, I never would have left the grounds! The pets were endearingly sweet (dogs loved me, but the bird only flirted with my husband) while never being bothersome...very well-mannered! And we loved hearing the rooster in the morning...it made us realize just how quiet it really is there! We did not have a television in our room (ended up being glad for that), but I never requested one, so it might have been a possibility if that is important to one's stay. While Serenity Sands is not within walking distance of the town center, it is only a short drive. We would certainly return...if for nothing else, to visit sweet Penny once again!

Hi Nicki We do have rooms available for January 29, 2015. You can get our email from our website, just search Serenity Sands Corozal (sorry can't post our webpage or email on this page) for more information. Yes, spending a few days in and around Corozal (although we are 3-1/2 miles from town) is a great way to see if you like the area. Cheers Penny

Hi The best place to rent a car in Corozal is with vipauto, I can set that up for you, or you can find them online at belizevipautorental (sorry can't put a link on here) We do have rooms available May 22-27, 2015. The orchid room, $90 US per night, and the tapir and mahogany (2 twin beds) are $85 per night. This rate includes breakfast, but not the 9% hotel tax. We do require a 1 night deposit to hold a reservation. I will be travelling tomorrow and won't be able to respond to any questions. Cheers Penny
