Corozal - and Serenity Sands-was our first stop for our "experience Belize" 2023 vacation. And what a great choice it was! We loved the private beach, the beautiful atmosphere and the great personal touches. The owner, Penny, served a delicious breakfast to us each morning and answered so many questions for us about the area. She helped us set up wonderful massages on the beach, provided kayaks for adventure, and even helped us contact others to help us experience the country better. We even made great friends with her sweet dog, Bailey. We enjoyed our stay so much and will go back if we get a chance!

The property is absolutely beautiful, right on the bay. "B&B" really doesn't describe it, it's more like a private resort. Swimming pool, swimming in the bay. Penny, the host, was so helpful and knowledgeable. She booked things for us and was constantly attentive to our needs. 2 dogs and 5 cats too! Bed and room very comfortable. Couldn't have been better.

Hands down the best sleep I've had most likely in my life. Hubby and I stayed in the Tapir room. Penny went above and beyond to accommodate my dietary needs and helped with dinner when our car stopped working. The property is absolutely gorgeous, peaceful and welcoming. Something about this place allowed me to decompress and relax. Would definitely recommend Serenity Sands and I look forward to staying again!

We moved here from a hotel in town, on October 3rd, in order to have a way to cook our own food, access to a pool, and also a beach type area on Corozal bay.. seems like a win-win right? It was anything but that. We checked in and moments later the air conditioner turned off. We believed it would be fixed soon, so it was our mistake to stay. Stay we did up until October 7th. The night of October 6th the power went out at 1:45 in the morning. I thought I was being cooked all night long. I don't know if I've ever been so hot. My nebulizer was useless. No fan, no visit from the owner to let us know that she understood what was going on. It was radio silence until 7:30 in the morning when she let us know that she knew the power was out. Now, Penny was very nice the whole time we were there, however, she did not let us know at all that there was grid power in the room by using two outlets in the kitchen (The guest house is on solar) This would have at least allowed us to keep cool with the fan. We ended up checking out, and moving on to Belize City earlier than we expected. The only bright light to this whole entire reservation, was Bailey the dog. We fell in love with this dog. That's the only positive I have. …

I'm sorry we had so many things go wrong with your stay. You are correct, I should have remembered earlier to let you know about power for the fans. Thank you for helping us be better.

Love love loved this place. It's clean and immaculately kept. It's peaceful and serene yet close to all the fun activities nearby. Penny , the hostess, is priceless no request was too big or too small. The private beach is rare in this area. Along with the pool it was a perfect place to rest and recharge our batteries. Her home made muffins for the continental breakfast every morning were a delicious delight. No amenities were missing in this tropical paradise.

We were two couples who shared the guesthouse. This was good because we could make our own meals in the kitchen. The space is relatively comfortable but if sharing, be aware that there is only one bathroom. The grounds are lovely and it was wonderful to spend a quiet day reading in the hammocks and enjoying the pool. It must be noted that the ocean swimming is not good as it is very shallow for quite a way out and much of the bottom is weed covered. Good for a quick dip but not for real swimming. However it is nice to see the mangroves incorporated into the beach area. Penny was very helpful with suggestions and advice.

The location is fantastic! Far enough away from town and neighbors that you feel like your in your own little piece of paradise, but not so far that a trip into town is a hassle. Relaxing at the water's edge with a good book and a beer (or two), listening to the waves and enjoying the cool ocean breeze... I could have stayed right there for months. :) We stayed in the guest house. It was comfortable and quiet and had everything you might need. There is no internet in the guest house, but the common room of the main house is available to check your email or browse the web if needed. Frankly, getting away from the internet for a week was far from a bad thing though. The host, Penny, was completely wonderful and accommodating! I'd never stayed at a B&B before and was a little nervous that it might feel like I was just a guest in a stranger's house. But Penny made us feel right at home. If you really want to get away, I couldn't recommend Serenity Sands more highly. I honestly didn't want to leave! :)…

Penny is the perfect host! Serenity B&B was restful and so beautiful (pics don't do it justice), the breakfasts were scrumptious, and the dogs are precious. Whether reading on a hammock, sunbathing on the pool deck, or taking a leisurely swim in the crystal-clear pool, you will love your stay! Penny used her great connections to arrange all 3 of our Belize adventures, including snorkeling on the barrier reef and touring the Lamanai Mayan archaeological reserve with an unforgettable river tour! Thank you, Penny (and pat your pups from us)! Matt & Carolyn

Until we stayed at Serenity Sands B&B, my husband and I had forgotten what life without background noise and ambient light was like. So peaceful; so inspiring! This B&B is uniquely eco-friendly in every way and entirely off the grid. The pool was glorious and the pets were friendly. We were very comfortable in our large room; when the air conditioner wasn't on, fans and screened windows kept us comfortable. Breakfast was vegan, varied and delicious, the property was immaculate with many amusing artistic touches, and hosts Don and Penny anticipated our every need and graciously helped us solve an unexpected problem back home. It was a wonderful stay!

It was a great place to stay all off grid. No internet at night but it was fine. The owner Penny was really sweet and the breakfast was amazing. She even allowed us to leave our car for a couple of days while we travelled.
