Booked 1 night here before getting the early boat to san pedro. Basic room with private bath on third floor...price was 35$ US dollars. The chines food restaurant downstairs had big portions of food... typical chinese from back home...except for the surprisingly good yellow curry chicken... We got in after dark because we got stuck at the border waiting for transportation. We finally got a ride from a nice elderly man with his family into corozal town... was quite the ride past burning sugar can fields... recommend Mirador if your heading on the early boat...2 minute walk to pier

The Mirador was an integral part of our adventure to Mexico and Belize, two nights on our way south and two a week later on our way back. I've got to say the place was ideal and exactly what we were looking for. Great, comfortable accommodation at a very reasonable price. My only complaint would be the lack of a decent restaurant. The one in the hotel is chinese, which suited me but not the other half and I'm sorry to say it wasn't the best of food. However we found an absolutely great restaurant at Tony's on the outskirts of the town.
The staff at the hotel were first class and the level of service was excellent.
We were in a bay view room with fans and I suspect if we were there during the hotter months a room with A/C would be preferrable.
Highly recommended.

The good: Great location, just a few yards away from the pier where Thunderbolt docks. Beautiful view of the bay, great breeze to enjoy. We requested bay view. We opened our windows and enjoyed the breeze for the first few days. No A/C needed at all. The terrace has great hammocks to relax in, and of course, an amazing view and great breeze. Very close to town square, only a short walk away from bus terminal. We enjoyed the recreation areas all along the bay, along with a great place for walking/jogging in the mornings. I like how their prices stay the same, one flat rate that includes tax and all. The hotel itself was clean and decent, though not fancy. Great WiFi.

The bad: The beds were not very comfortable. If you do get a budget room with no A/C, keep in mind that you may not always get a breeze through your window and it will get warm, not to mention the mosquitoes. The last night we were there, breeze suddenly stopped and mosquitoes took over. Also, on weekends, you have cars parked on the street with very loud music. This was solved by shutting the window, but then it got hot. There is no elevator, so keep this in mind if stairs are a problem.

The ugly: Very early during our last morning there, the electricity went out in the hotel and surrounding area. We were still able to shower with some of the water that was left in the pipes, but eventually it ran out so we were left with no water. Luckily, there credit card machine was still running so I was able to check out, pay, and leave. Also, when the windows are shut, there is a bad sewer smell that fills the room. I asked the guy if the electricity issue was common and he said they knew that it was going to happen. I would have appreciated it I had known so that maybe I could have showered the night before and paid for my stay ahead of time. I did not have enough cash to pay, only my credit card.

In short, if you need an affordable place to stay for one or two nights, it is fine. But do not make this your main hotel. We stayed 4 days/ 3 nights.

This is one of the worst hotels I think I have ever been in. I knew the room wouldn’t have air conditioning; but I was not prepared for the horribly moldy smell. TV didn’t work, the Wi-Fi was so bad, streaming not possible and of and on all the time.

The ONLY positive thing was nice staff.

Loved stay at Mirador hotel.

Only complaint i would have is that the room we stayed in was very hot. It was on the first floor and was so warm, seemed much warmer than the air outside, even at night-time. However, that was our own fault partly as we were on a tight-budget and so paid for only room with fan, I would recommend paying the extra to have A/C as well which they do offer. We paid at time of our stay only 70 Belizean dollars including hotel tax ( 35 US dollars ) for both of us. The room was very nice, with nice views over the bay. The best part of all about the hotel is the rooftop terrace, a few floors up, and being very high with beautiful views around the bay and whole town. There are hammocks you can swing in. There are also picnic tables where you can eat up there if you like. The staff very friendly. There nightime security all night also. Hotel located very near, just steps away , from where you can get a boat to San Pedro ( Ambergris Caye ) if you so desired though we did not do this ourselves because on tight budget. Corozal a lovely sleepy town and great to chill out and kick-back. We have stayed me and my wife at a few hotels in Corozal, and we consider this the very best. It is very inexpensive, yet fairly new, with a clean feel and great facilities for the price. Lovely to be right by the sea also and near to the centre of town. Highly recommended, but as mentioned at beginning of this review, would recommend asking about how much extra for Air Conditioning room because it was very hot....this our only complaint....we even went up on the rooftop terrace for some of the night and slept a bit in the hammocks ... which was actually very nice and felt very adventurous !!

My husband was recently in Belize on business and was booked into the Mirador hotel in Corozal. Anyhow to say was bad is being kind. First of all the room wasn't clean nor was the hotel. There was no air conditioning, so he had to leave the window open. A person with ragee music blaring parked under his window. He contacted me to see how you check for bedbugs. No bed bugs thankfully. However there were cockroaches!!!!. He killed several, then by 0130hrs he went downstairs and they moved him to another room. He wanted to leave but there was no where else to go at that hour. To make things worse the attendant advised the roaches were probably coming from the kitchen !!!!! YUCK. Traveller beware!!!!

The taxi driver recommended the Mirador Hotel. He said it is the best. It is a huge four story building that was not well planned out. We had to walk up tiny stairs to get to the room. What a workout lugging our luggage up those horrible stairs. The rooms were tacky with cheap polyester bedspreads and cheap production furniture. The bathroom was tiled but the toilet was tiny. The view from our room was a rusty tin roof and a slum looking area. On the bottom floor there was an asian restaurant and we could smell the grease in our room. The outside of the building is very run down and covered with plastic pipes for the air conditioners and plumbing. Looks like spiderman lived there. Although in the center of town it seemed like the bad part of town. Lots of beggers and drugged out looking types. We decided to check out the next day and the owners got kind of racial to us. What a nightmare.

I'd like to start by saying I've read several of the "negative" reviews submitted. Some folks wouldn't be satisfied no matter where they stayed or how little they were charged. So, with that out of the way, I'll start by saying that the Mirador Hotel is one of the older buildings in beautiful Corozal Town. With any "older" building there will be some flaws; however, in general the Mirador is in very decent state of repair and maintenance. The hotel is located central to the Corozal Bay, shopping and restaurants. My room was equipped with air conditioning and it made the stay very comfortable. I knew about the NO REFUND policy in advance of my stay. To me that is not an issue. My room was very clean. The bathroom was just fine, even though others say that the facilities were dirty and in ill repair. Remember, this building is older and the fixtures are older as well but that shouldn't matter as long as they are clean and maintained. All of the staff members were extremely helpful and would bend over backward to make sure service was prompt and efficient. Corozal Town is a sleepy little place with great people and fantastic food. Breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, refried beans, fry jacks with honey and strong coffee at Al's Café or stewed chicken with rice and beans, potato salad and fried plantains at June's Kitchen are totally satisfying and delicious. Food is very inexpensive and plentiful on the plate. Prices range from $5.00(US) for breakfast to $7.00(US) for lunch and/or dinner on average. My only regret is that my two week stay was too short. Some say that there is little to do in Corozal Town. I say you can find lots to do there from the Mayan Ruin Archaeological Sites at Santa Rita or Cerros or a thunder boat ride out to San Pedro or a trip to the Sartaneja fishing village. You just have to create your own adventure. Would I stay at the Mirador Hotel again? You better Belize it!!

On the whirlwind tour of the Yucatan and Belize we stayed at nine hotels in 16 nights. This was the only one I was worried about due to the TA reviews. Upon arrival we found the desk staff to be very helpful, the rooms to be clean, the A/C cold and the shower hot. That's all we needed as we were just passing through (Corozal doesn't have much to do, but that's sort of the point of going there). It's also enough for a four star review. I gave them the Full Monty because they went above and beyond. I accidentally left my camera on the rooftop lounge area. A staff member found it and returned it promptly. We took a ton of pictures on our travels and I would've been distraught if my camera went missing. The staff's courtesy and honesty really stood out to me.

We got picked up from airport by a man called Elcho Ken. He is on face book. Then we walked everywhere in Corozal then caught the bus to our next destination. Less hassle then getting taxi to Belize City then renting a car.
