This is a great budget hotel in Placencia right on the beach. We had room 13 so you get a covered patio of your own with hammock and additional chairs. My sister and I shared the room for two nights. We were waiting for friends...More
We stayed for 3 nights in October 2014 and I was pleased with the room (8). We had a small kitchenette, full bathroom and AC. We had to get a new remote control for the TV, and the fan in the room wouldn't rotate, but...More
In such a small ocean town with high prices, Seaspray Hotel is a welcomed penny saver. I stepped off the Hokey Pokey ferry without a clue where to stay. I asked a traveler waiting for the bus and she enthusiastically recommended Seaspray Hotel. She raved...More
Let's be honest, the budget room at $20 a night on low season isn't anything to write home about, but my god do they give you your money's worth! Splitting this price with a friend for 7 nights freed us up to spend our well-stretched...More

No one mentioned the bus, yet! (Probably because you will have to take three to get there, and they are not too comfy...) It is your cheapest option.
1) Take a cab to the Northern Highway. ($5 US)
2) Take a southbound bus to the Belize City bus terminal. ($1 US)
3) Board a Ritchie's, James Line, or Griga Line bus headed to Placencia, Dangriga, or Punta Gorda. They leave hourly; the ride should be 3-4 hours. (~$13 US)
*If you are not on a bus specifically marked PLACENCIA, then you must switch buses in Dangriga. Find a Ritchie's bus and tell the conductor where you are staying; he will let you off close by. The Ritchie's leave Dangriga for Placencia at 11:00 am, 2:00 pm, 4:30 pm, and 6:15 pm. (~$5 US)
