My husband I and I just returned from 4 nights at Lamanai Outpost Lodge. The entire experience was exceptional and far exceeded our expectations. The #1 reason was the staff. Every single person who works there radiates happiness and it's infectious. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and seemed to enjoy the excursions just as much as the guests! My recommendation... More

Not that easy to reach - 1 hour from the main airport, then another hour or so on a boat - but it's worth it. The boat trip itself is an experience - we saw a few interesting birds, including an Osprey munching on a fish - on the way. Atmosphere was super relaxed when we were there....as we were... More

A one hour leisurely boat ride with our guides, George and Abdul, brought myself, my husband and 8 of our friends to the very quaint Lamanai Outpost Lodge and Reserve. Along the way, Abdul pointed out several species of birds and other wildlife, gave of a short history of the area and stopped a time or two for photo ops.... More

We spent three nights in Lamanai and loved every moment. The lodge is very well equipped and operated by extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff, who mostly live in the nearby village. We loved the activities that we did, such as sunrise canoeing, walking safari, visiting the nearby Maya ruins and spotlight safari (our favourite, on a boat whizzing around after... More

I stayed at Lamanai for three nights with my 15 year old nephew. It is a good place for both families and friends. We arrived just a few days after Hurricane Earl and they were working very hard to clear up all the downed trees and damaged huts, but it didn't interfere much with our stay. There were a few... We spent 3 nights at the lodge upon arrival in Belize - an hour taxi ride (including a drive around Orange Walk aka Sugar City) was followed by an hours river cruise up to the lodge. The staff were amazingly friendly, happy to help with anything and fluent in English, Spanish, Mayan and Creol. The food was fantastic - We... More

Our annual 7 night stay in Lamanai proved to be another wonderful adventure. From the start, you are treated so well...as many hands whisk away your luggage, and it appears in your cabana. The boat ride into the lodge is a wonderful way to allow you to see some of the wildlife. It is especially nice if the driver goes... More

Lamanai Outpost Lodge is one of the most impressive places I've ever visited! The facilities are very well maintained and the grounds are beautiful. But, for me, it was the people and attention to detail that pushed the experience to a truly exceptional level. Every one of the guides and staff we experienced were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Importantly, they... More

We spent four days at Lamanai at the start of our trip to Belize - it was probably the ideal length of time to spend there. The cabanas are dark but perfectly nice and spotlessly clean. Howler monkeys hang out in the trees overhead and hummingbirds dart around the restaurant and gardens. The food is great - and there is... More

Reached by riverboat with lots of wildlife on the way. All the "drivers" are knowledgeable about the birds and other creatures, amazing at spotting hidden beasts and happy to stop and let you get photos. Clean and comfortable room, though quite dark even with the light on - bring a torch! Good and plentiful food. Plenty of land around to... More
