Our stay at Sabal Beach was the first 9 days of a 19 day vacation in Belize. It was a wonderful choice to unwind, unplug and just soak up the beauty of this country. David was instrumental with booking our island flight to Placencia and transportation to the resort. Also, a big thank you to David for his unending patience with my many emails and questions.
Our captain from Placencia to Sabal Beach was Jason, and he was incredible! We weren't even on the water for 10 minutes and were able to see almost a dozen manatee whales! He later took us for a tour up the Monkey River. We learned many herbals therapies from various plants, trees, leaves, etc., we saw a couple of tarantulas, a boa constrictor, and many howler monkeys just to name a few.
Our time at the resort was spent kayaking out for the sunrise, a quick snorkel and the local reef about 1/4 mile off shore, fishing, swimming, and sun bathing. We took a stroll up the beach to Suzette's for a most amazing fish lunch, and Paulette's homemade coconut fudge! Don took us to the reef for an extended snorkel/fishing day which was amazing! The grounds keeper,Sylvestre, was helpful and kind. He became a friend to us and we spent many sunset evenings visiting.
I highly recommend Sabal Beach, it's beauty and charm incomparable to any other. it will always be with me. Thank you Sabal Beach team!!

My husband and I spent three weeks in Belize and while we visited some spectacular sights and met some unforgettable and beautiful Belizeans, this was our favorite stop. We stayed five days and the seclusion and calm were so regenerative. The hosts are knowledgeable, kind, welcoming and very helpful. My husband enjoyed fishing from the dock and actually caught (and released) quite a few fish. I would suggest a good supply of freeze dried food (we really like Mountain House) and that you make prior arrangements for the boat ride down from Monkey River. Of all the places we stayed, this is the one we will return to.

An opportunity to truly embrace solitude rather than try to avoid or escape it. This felt like a unique trip right from the point that we arrived at Belize City International Airport which was a welcome contrast to the huge airports previously stopped at en route in USA.

We flew with Tropic Air to Placencia and from there boarded the boat which took us to Sabal Beach. This journey through the mangroves was a beautiful introduction to the region and the two weeks that lay ahead. We found the cabana had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and catered well for all of our needs.

Being this close to nature was a very special experience and the opportunity to go out daily on the sea kayaks to the reef which was only 20 minutes from the shore was an additional treat. We saw an eagle ray, nurse sharks ,dolphins and a variety of fish that we also saw further out at the barrier reef. Keep your eyes open for osprey, parrots and humming birds. We also saw a very healthy population of pelicans and it was a pleasure to observe them in flight and diving for fish.

David and Wayne were excellent hosts and we very much enjoy the opportunity to meet with them on the dock each evening for banter and conversation. Their passion and knowledge for the area was invaluable and every recommendation that they made was spot on and contributed to an overall fantastic experience. The snorkeling trip to the reef and Monkey River, the fishing trip with Suzette and eating at the local village where Paula cooked us some delicious authentic food.

Thank you for a truly unique and amazing trip. We hope to be back in the not too distant future.

Sabal Beach is by far one of the best places to unwind and recharge. This secluded property is simply beautiful and the cabana is the perfect beach accommodation. You really have the place all to yourself, so if you are looking to find a place to get away from the typical tourist spots, this is it.
David and Wayne are the perfect hosts and were extremely helpful in arranging our travel to and from Belize City. They also helped us arrange a private snorkeling excursion and a trip down the Monkey River with Jason, who by the way, is a terrific guide. Also highly recommended is lunch at Suzette’s in Punta Negra. It was so good we went twice! If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. Hope to make it back to this little piece of paradise someday.

Thank you for the kind words. You are amongst good company in rating the village food highly! I have yet to find a restaurant in Belize that does Belizean food any better. Hopefully our paths will cross again in Belize or elsewhere.

We absolutely enjoyed our New Years stay at Sabal Beach, it was wonderful and just what we needed. We stayed 3 nights and could have easily stayed a few extra days at Sabal Beach.

The beach was ours entirely, we read books in the hammocks by the beach while listening to the sound of the ocean and birds. This place is heaven!!

The accommodation was perfect and we had everything we needed and if there would have been anything missing Wayne and David would have organised any extras right away.

We have been looked after well by David, Wayne and little Sofia. And it was a pleasure meeting everyone. Thank you for having us!
