This is a good little hotel to stop for a night while waiting for the ferry or before heading out to the Mayan villages. Rooms are clean and neat. Cable TV was a novelty. Best aspect by far is the staff, especially Charles who's great to chat to about the local area.

Thank you for such a kind review! My father always enjoy chatting with guests and he is also a local historian and a former Minister of the government of Belize, so indeed he is very knowledgeable about everything Punta Gorda and everything Belize. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay at the St. Charles and we wish to... More

After dealing with less than ethical management at Grace's we decided to come to St Charles. Cleaner rooms, hot water and optional A/C all at very reasonable rates. If you are are single traveler or women - they lock the gates at 5pm and have a security guard on site. It's close to the boats and bus.

A long story but I will do my best to explain. On Monday March 1st at 9am these guest came into the office to check out of the room and to ask me about boats and prices to Guatemala. I provided them with all the necessary information and they left shortly after. Around 7pm that evening I received a phone... More

Comfortable, inexpensive and with A/C! Friendly staff. A little noisy, but I guess that's normal around that part of town. We stayed for about a week, although two of those nights we spent in Placencia, but we left our things in our room at the inn anyway, we only took a backpack for the beach in Placencia. On our return... More

We stayed here just for the one night and could not complain for the price. The owner was really friendly and pointed out a few things for us. The room had a tv, hot showers and wifi. It was close to the dock for Guatemala, supermarkets and restaurants. Overall it is very good value.

We stayed in the St. Charles Inn for only one night, but enjoyed our time there. It's close to the center so you can walk, the rooms are very clean (and come with water and a coffee maker), and the shower was excellent. There's even a TV! I would recommend to any travelers on a budget.

Carlos, the hotel manager, was very friendly and helpful to answer questions about points of interest to visit in Punta Gorda. We had clean sheets and towels daily. The beds were comfortable and the fans and a/c kept temperatures cool. The rooms were quiet and economical--very important for volunteer English teachers! We plan to return to St. Charles on our... We paid 65bd for the first night and 60bd for the second night in a clean and spacious room with private bathroom. Helpful son/manager and lovely father/owner who can talk for hours about his life and experiences.

I stayed three nights in this superclean, well maintained and secure hotel. At $25.00 US a night it was very reasonable and conveniently located to downtown Punta Gorda. An added bonus is the veranda with hammocks and deck chairs. There is nothing third world about this hotel.
