We had a kitchenette room with all the amenities. Room was clean, had a view from the balcony. Nice courtyard in front to relax. Free coffee at reception in the morning. Across the street is a dock for your use. Probably the best place to stay in Punta Gorda.

While on a medical mission trip to Belize, a group of us stayed in Punta Gorda at the Sea Front Inn for a much-needed break after 5 days of grueling clinics. This inn has a lovely water view from the upper level where we ate breakfast each morning and spent time most evenings. We were fortunate in knowing the owner, Larry, and his wife--former missionaries in the Mayan jungles--and were able to adapt to the "easy style" there such as the "honors bar" where guests simply list the drink/s taken. At the end of the stay, these are added to your bill. Larry's son-in-law, Roberto-- a native Belizean--takes groups or individuals on various tours on his boat, The Wild Thing. We were fortunate enough to experience two adventures with him: a trip on the Moho River in the jungle, and a snorkeling day at Snake Island. These were truly wonderful days without another human face seen except those of our group. We saw iguanas, rare birds, dolphins, looked for manatees, and watched Roberto wrestle with a 10 foot boa in a tree--for our benefit, I imagine. If SURVIVOR is your kind of tv show, then you would like these outings(there are several others to chose from all with the reliable Roberto in charge). Our lunches were packed by the Sea Front Inn staff and taken on the boat each day. I cannot say enough about the friendly folks there. The rooms are not luxurious, but certainly adequate with various themes to pick from. I would certainly consider staying there again without hesitation. I would like to see more visitors to Punta Gorda making friends with the owners and getting acquainted with "life at the Sea Front". And by all means, be sure to book a day with Roberto and The Wild Thing. You won't regret it.

My husband and I just stayed for a month in one of the apartments at Sea Front Inn during our volunteer stint at a local medical clinic. We were in the "Maya Ruin" apartment- a nicely decorated and spacious unit with AC, kitchen, and bathroom with a large shower with good water pressure and abundant hot water. A fast Wi-Fi connection made it easy to keep in touch with the folks at home via Skype. A pleasant walk along the waterfront gets you to the market for fresh fruit, vegetables ands fish right off the boat. Several good restaurants and eateries are close by including Gomier's, Jocelyn's and the Snack Shack. The bus terminal and water taxis to Livingstone, Guatemala are also within easy walking distance. The owners, Larry and Karol, have lived in the area for over 40 years and know everything there is to know about Punta Gorda and the surrounding region. We heartily recommend the Sea Front Inn and plan to return again!

Thank you for taking time to post a review of your stay at the Sea Front Inn. So happy that you stayed with us and for the work that you provided for the area during your stay. The apartments are really nice for people who are staying for an extended time and want their own space. The location of the Sea Front is a plus and we appreciate that this was a benefit. Hope to see you again soon!!

We stayed in the Sea Front Inn in November 2012 for 4 nights. Punta Gorda is not at its best in November (cool and gloomy skies) and during these 3 days we were nearly alone in the hotel. There was some major construction going on during our stay. We were not offered a different room in the 2nd building to avoid the majority of this. The whole front courtyard of the hotel had been torn apart and there were workers and pickups and construction materials around and it was even hard to walk into the hotel because of the scaffolding etc. I think during the regular season when there is no construction it would be a lovely place to stay. There was a breakfast every morning in their (empty) restaurant, coffee and some kind of bakery item and fruit. Nothing very impressive. At night there were weird sounds in the hotel and it felt kind of like security wasn't the best, although there was a guy who sat as a watchman for much of the night. Our room was nice (Manatee room), mostly clean and a good size, with a balcony and a view of the Bay of Honduras, which was beautiful and the ocean is right across the street. I say mostly clean because it seemed like some work had been done recently in the rooms and there was plaster and dust.

The rooms vary a lot in size so look at the rooms before you commit to one. We would probably stay there again but it was just not a great time to be at that particular hotel due to the mess of construction. I'm surprised they were even open. Also, the people at the front desk changed every day and none of them seemed to know anything about where to go to eat, catch a ferry or rent bikes. We had to ask other people after getting the wrong info from the front desk people every single day.

The location of the hotel is great. You are within about 7 blocks of the ferry, 3 blocks from a coffee shop, bus stop, and stores, and within 6 blocks of restaurants. There is no dinner or lunch service at this hotel, at least not while we were there, despite the restaurant on the 3rd floor.

We are happy that you chose the Sea Front Inn as your place to stay in Punta Gorda!! Sorry that you didn't have better weather during your stay!!! We are also sorry that the renovations caused you discomfort and loneliness, but we are excited that things are improving for future visits. I feel sure that some of the dust and plaster was caused by construction. Did you mention it to the folks at the front desk? The second building that you mentioned is apartments and that is why it was not offered as "better" room. Safety for our guest is a priority and you can rest assured that you were safe and the night watchman was doing his job!!!! The restaurant is closed at the present time except for the continental breakfast. Hopefully, in the near future, this will change and other meals will be offered. Our front desk is usually very helpful with local information and everyone is friendly. Be sure that we will use your review as a reference to improvements. We hope that you will return to Punta Gorda again in the near future and will give us an opportunity to better serve you!!! Thanks for reviewing the Sea Front Inn!

Sea Front Inn, the best place to stay in Punta Gorda Belize! My husband and I had never been to Belize and spent months making our plans. We flew into Belize City and caught a Maya Island Airline flight right in the airport to our first stop - Punta Gorda. We planned to stay in Punta Gorda for two weeks using it as our base for travel in the southern most point of Belize and northern Guatemala. We rented an apartment at the Sea Front Inn which is located right on the Caribbean Sea. The first thing that we noticed was the beautiful view we had. Then we were greeted by Carol the owner, who told us she was awaiting our arrival and had our apartment all ready for us. She escorted us to the apartment and we were immediately thrilled with the size and features. Our apartment had two large comfortable beds, a couch; color TV, full kitchen with all the necessities, ceiling fans, air conditioning, a wonderful bathroom with the greatest hot shower ever and the entire apartment was nicely decorated with a Belizean flair. The room was clean and the bedding and towels smelled so nice. As wonderful as the apartment was the best part was we had a beautiful balcony that had a wonderful view and a pier and swimming area right in front of us. Since we didn’t rent a car we especially appreciated the short walk to the main area of town, market, bank, restaurants and immigration/customs port which is where we caught our boat to Livingston - Guatemala. After our two weeks in Punta Gorda and the Seafront Inn we must say we have NEVER met such friendly people in any place we had ever traveled. Punta Gorda and the Sea Front Inn are a winning combination when visiting Belize. We highly recommend this for travelers that are looking for a relaxing environment and or fishing, kayaking, swimming, cultural sites, waterfalls, caving or spending a few hours or days in Guatemala.

After our trip several years ago, we are planning a return trip and we will make a stay at the Sea Front Inn a part of it. The use of native rosewood and maghogny and hand fashioned furniture together with native cuisine prepared by locals makes for a truly delightful and real taste of Belize. Not to mention the Carribean Sea at the front door.....Wonderful!!!

It has been my pleasure to stay at the Seafront Inn from its earliest days. In the summer of 1999, while in its final stages of preparation for receiving guests, I stayed in one of its luxurious rooms. The comfort and appearance of the facilities of the inn are comparable to well-maintained Stateside accommodations which are sometimes difficult to find in Central America. Owners and managers, Larry and Carol Smith, have spend their adult lives in Belize and enthusiatically share their love of the country with their guests. They speak the local languages and know the local customs. Their inn is a good place to scope out the surroundings before venturing out on one's own. Eating a variety of good food in Seafront Inn's dining room of mahogany wood is one of the best ways to end a day of adventure in Punta Gorda.

We straggled in to Punta Gorda bone weary from a long day of travel. When we arrived at the Sea Front Inn we felt like we were at home.
The staff was very warm and friendly, the owners were so knowledgable and kind.We loved our room which faced the sea, it has the neatest decorations. I wish that I would have asked to see some of the other rooms & how the decor corresponded with the names of the rooms.
The restaurant was a shrine to beauty and art, so unique.(and the food great!)
We went on a tour with Roberto, he is the absolute best guide we've ever had on any trip anywhere!!!
We want to stay longer next year. Our hats off to the crew at the Sea Front Inn.
thanks guys for a great trip.

We LOVED our stay at the Sea Front Inn!
It is the most artiistic place I have ever stayed, every way we turned we saw more and more detail, I never did see it all. We stayed for 5 nites but could have stayed forever!
We went out with tour guide Roberto ???(can't recall his last name!).t he was wonderful! He catered to us not just guided us and had such enthusiasm and gusto and knowledge about the different places that he took us. (white sandy beaches that we had all to ourselves, jungle cruises where we saw some amazing animals and a Mayan Village where he seemed to know everyone there.
all in all I can not say enough about our time at the beautiful Inn. The owners were very kind, the staff helpful and friendly and the cost was low for the beautiful room that we had.
oh, did I mention the delightful breakfasts? or the views from the restaurant windows??
Wonderful wonderful, Joel

We stayed in the Sea Horse Room up on the top floor overlooking the Carribbean Sea, I spent a lot of time swinging in the hammock on the veranda enjoying the cool breeze and fabulous scenery while my husband snoozed in the a/c.
The staff was great, the room was so creative, the hotel amazing with myriads of intricate and artistic detail. One can see that the place was built with much love and creativity. I thot that our room was a great bargain. There were 3 of us and the room was spacious and comfortable for $60.. It was in a great location as well for walking into the nearby town. I found the people of Punta Gorda very kind and friendly. I would go back in an instant!
