Thanks for the kind review, Julie. We are always happy to accommodate people working in conservation. We hope to see you again.
This was a very nice lodge and the owner, Sheila, was very helpful in making our stay there very pleasant. Originally I booked a casita, but Sheila messaged me and said she would upgrade us to a room in the lodge - the difference: fan...More

Thanks so much for the lovely review. May is the hottest and dryest month of the year for us. Maybe the next visit can be a bit earlier in the year when Mother Nature is a little more helpful. We hope to see you again,...More
We stayed at Chaab'il B'e for four nights of our honeymoon, and absolutely loved our stay! From the moment I booked the room, Sheila reached out to me to help me plan our trip and recommend activities in the area. She booked some activities for...More

Britta, You are so kind! We loved having you both with us. I enjoyed hearing about your adventures. I still laugh about your comments after the Living Maya Experience and use them to convince others to go. We hope you can return to Belize one...More

Thank you for the kind review, Nicholas and Christine. We enjoyed getting to meet your family and hope that the rest of your Belize adventure goes well. Have fun manatee watching!
We were going to stay at the lodge for 5 days, but because there was a flood, there was no power. The owners, Sheila and Rusty, then bought us a night at a great hotel in town and then picked us up the next day...More

I'm not sure if Lee checks TripAdvisor for comments, but my wife and I were guests at Tranquility Lodge last June (2014), so I can at least tell you what we did . . . There are some trails right on the property, as well as swimming (though the rains had made the creek/swimming hole muddy when we were there). We went to the Mayan sites of Lubaantun and Nim Li Punit one day, with a stop at Coleman's Restaurant, all of which I can recommend. We also went to the Mayan site of Uxbenka, which isn't as well excavated/developed, and was part of a trip that I don't think is normally available. You can also go to a local chocolate factory. We ran out of time to do that, so can't comment on what it's like. But it's chocolate, so how bad could it be?
We were supposed to go kayaking on one of the local rivers, but a big rainstorm prevented that (which is why we went to Lubaantun and Nim Li Punit). There are a couple of kayaking options in the area.
