Near the arch in Chichicastenango, is a lovely, friendly family run hotel, Posada El Arco. The rooms are large and clean with fireplaces. Each room is decorated with local art and textiles. The bathrooms are large with plenty of hot water in the shower. Pedro, the owner who speaks English, will have coffee ready from his freshly ground beans each...

Posada El Arco is a great place in Chichi the hostess is wonderful as well with the owners that are friendly and thoughtful. It's conveniently located a few steps away from the famous market. My room was spacious and cozy and with really nice interiors and an amazing view on the garden and access to a nice balcony/porch. The garden...

it is easy to find thanks to the great location, near the Arch and walking distance to the heart of this cute city and market. The tenant is very welcoming and bedrooms are big. This is not the cheapest hotel but it has charm. A shame that there is no option for breakfast. No wifi.

When we were looking for it in Chichi, we were a bit struck by just how sketchy the outside looks. It was barely marked and definitely looked seedy. But once we rang the doorbell and got inside, we loved it. We showed up with our 2 kids and Sylvia (the hostess) was extremely welcoming. The room was very clean and...

As they say, there's not much of a sign! It's called El Arco because it is near an arched highway overpass that all taxis know well, so it is easy to find. Good central location, friendly hostess, quaint rooms done in local crafts and textiles. Ours had a fireplace, and I promptly built a fire and toasted my toes. Set...

I was a part of a weaving tour and we spent the night in Chichi before a Sunday market. The rooms are decorated with Mayan weavings, carvings and masks, and grounds are lovely. It is an easy walk to the market. They don't serve breakfast, but they have excellent coffee roasted at the posada. They sell it by the pound...

Look for the address on the front of the building, otherwise you might not know it's there! Located just a few short yards from the arc, hence the name, you'll be able to identify it by its pale yellow front with a green door. Look for these signposts. The door is always safely locked, so ring the doorbell at the...

We had a great stay in Chichicastenago at Posada El Arco. Great central location but not in the market. We had a great big room with access to the back balcony which was a nice place to sit and relax at the end of the day. The owner was so friendly and helped us set up our transportation to get...

Every room in this hotel is done up with exceptional care. Crafts from various regions in Guatemala decorate the rooms - all of which are large and comfortable. The owners are friendly, helpful and great conversationalists. And, the coffee, available on demand is delicious. Though there is no breakfast you'll find a flask full of hot coffee waiting in the...

Very nice people. Took me out to the garden and had me try the fruits they have growing there. Helpful advice on travel to and from. Charming clean room with HOT water and plenty of covers. I did not use the fireplace.
