We stayed one week in Posada Los Encuentros. Its a nice place located not in the center but although you can reach everything by walking. The housemaid is very lovely and helps whenever she can. Owner Richard is also friendly. Every room has its entrance from the beautiful medicinal garden and we also had a hammock in front of the... More

Freezedry, Owner at Posada Los Encuentros, responded to this review

As our place is small and accommodating, the proprietor or his representative is always at breakfast to advise guests on activities, answer questions, and respond to daily needs. Our policy is to please and to quickly correct reasonable dissatisfactions. It is unfortunate and unusual that, in the course of a week’s stay, the dissatisfactions expressed in this review would not... More

stayed in August after our move from a lakefront property near San Marcos. After encountering a scorpion and giant black spider Posada los Encuentros was a sigh of relief to us lol. We booked last min and we had a jr suite at a reasonable price. Includes continental breakfast and it has a really nice garden. Only reason why I... More

Off the beaten path of busy Panajachel , you will find la Posada de los Encuentros. The owner Richard , a very nice gentlemen from NY, decided to take a big break and open this hotel. The garden is full of natural herbs and invite for a very relaxing evening as well as a nice breakfast which is included in... More

If you want to stay near the lake, this hotel isn`t for you. If you need to be in city, choose another one. If you want to stay in a quiet place, with warm welcome, nice garden and atmosphere from 60-70, go there without hesitation! An owner is very interesting man, an american, but lives here more than 14 years.... More

It is a bit off the beaten path, but you can easily access the city on foot or take a moto-taxi. The setting of the hotel itself is great with clean and comfortable rooms, a beautiful inner courtyard, a warm and relaxing volcanically heated hot-tub, and a sunning/viewing deck from which you can see the lake. Proprietor Richard Morgan is... More

Great place to stop and smell the roses. Relaxing in the garden, fun shopping in the near by village, boating on the lake and interesting foods. Bring your comfortable shoes for hiking and long walks by the lake. Rooms where clean, clean, clean, with friendly and helpful staff. Loved it.

Stayed here during a health mission trip to Guatemala. Couldn't have been happier, really comfortable room, beautiful art/garden, and helpful staff. I got to know the owner pretty well, he was very welcoming and gave some great advice in terms of day trips. He has done a lot of research and is very involved in the area (he has even... More

This place is amazing! The staff is extremely friendly and Richard, the owner, was very helpful both before our arrival and after. There is a beautiful garden and a naturally heated hot tub. There is also a terrace with great views and hammocks. Wish we could have stayed longer.

We stayed in a spacious apartment with a kitchen (room 7). The place was very tastefully decorated with lots of interesting local art, comfy beds and a hot shower :) The fitness centre contained all the equipment you need for your work-out. A great view of the sunset can be had if you climb to the top of the tower... More

We just spent the last 5 weeks here. It is beautiful, elegant and extremely affordable. Even in so much time we didn't get a chance to explore all the art Richard has placed throughout the hotel. The staff is very small, only Richard and three maintenance people. Everyone was very friendly, the place was very clean and breakfast was included!... More
