I have stayed at a number of places around Lake Atitlán. Or I used to. After a while it became apparent that the Posada was my favorite, and then it also became apparent that I enjoyed myself at the Posada so much that there was no point in doing second best ever again. Meals in the restaurant are beautifully presented,...

This little resort is beautiful, comfortable, quaint and so delightful! The staff is thoughtful and attentive. The casitas are comfortable with nice additions like an outdoor hammock. There's a pool and jacuzzi, as well as the lake for swimming. There's an area with chairs for sun or for shade. The food in the restaurant is really good. Breakfast options include...

... and I mean that in the best way! David -- the ex-pat Californian who owns and hosts this lovely intimate resort -- has created a rustic and relaxing paradise in one of the world's most stunning natural settings. This place is by no means Four Seasons luxury. The stone cabins are rough hewn, plumbing fixtures functional and gardens an...

I stayed here two nights in a very comfortable and clean bungalow. I would highly recommend it for someone seeking a quiet or romantic place surrounded by gorgeous nature. The staff was hospitable, the breakfast great. There's a nice deck looking out onto the lake and volcano where I hung out early in the morning or late afternoon, when bird...

I stayed at the Posada de Santiago for 3 nights, 2 in a stone cottage and one in the Casa Orquidea. Both were lovely. The spacious grounds are absolutely gorgeous. There are plenty of shaded spots to sit and hammocks outside the rooms. Pretty restaurant, good food, helpful staff, large pool overlooking the lake, hotel dock. Beds were exceptional. A...

Posada de Santiago is incredibly beautiful. Each cabin has a fireplace, a comfortable queen bed; and a single bed and even a hairdryer! There are hammocks outside each room; along with umbrellas to use. These people thought of everything. Throughout the grounds are look-out posts to see the stunning views of Lake Atitlan and little areas with roofs to sit...

Just looked at some of the other reviews and cannot grasp the unfounded gripes. This hotel is Shangri-La!!! The grounds are gorgeous and kept meticulously beautiful. It was like spending time in a private, luxurious forest. Staff was helpful and attentive to all requests. An ATM in town gave me a receipt saying they had given me money but no...

I found this hotel very overrated by the community. What I liked: 1) The location is naturally beautiful 2) The main dining room is really nice 3) The staff is very friendly 4) The food is pretty good What I didn't like: 1) The town of Santiago is just terrible. Going to another town may be a better choice. 2)...

I just got back from 3 nights at Posada de Santiago. If you're looking at Santiago Atitlan, this hotel really is the one of the few choices and possibly the best one, but not without its shortcomings. We were there during rainy season, which I don't recommend anyone. It poured all day, every day. There was nothing to do and...

Stayed for 2 nights in Santiago in a great room (family) called Rose .... the hotel has a great location 15 min walk into town and across the street from their lake side bar / lounge/ pool.... the place grew on me , food was excellent , staff was a mix between semi friendly and absolutely fantastic.... I'll mention the...
