On our way to rio Dulce from Tikal we stayed in Finca Ixobel, i have read som info about the place but definitely being there is another story, beautiful setting in the middle of nature, the rooms are really basic but just the experience of staying in one of those tree houses is what everything is about there. Food was...

One could wax rhapsodic about a dozen highlights, but all that needs to be said is that Finca Ixobel is special in all of the best ways. I intended to say a night or two and made it eleven, and enjoyed immensely every minute of my time there.

This place is amazing for some relaxing days and nights. When you enter the area of finca Ixobel you'll have the feeling you've left Guatemala. It's a peaceful farm with lots of space. The cabins are spread out over the whole area and the prices are low comparing to the perfect quality they offer. We booked a cabin with private...

I have traveled in Guatemala for many years on a very thin budget. The info you provide here is right on. It is an amazing place for adventure travel and backpackers of every stripe. I am presently on my greatest adventure in the country. It is my first trip back in 7 years. Working on a project in Cultural Anthropology...

What a wonderful spot between Santa Elena and Rio Dulce! We rode on chicken busses and paid a little more to be delivered to the Finca. They were most welcoming and had been a great help with email getting transportation set up. We stayed in a treehouse with beautiful rugs and bamboo furniture. The food was spectacular. The chef specializes...

I stayed twice in 2015 at Finca Ixobel, both times 1 week and last time in June. Its a good place to just do nothing, read or speak with other travelers. Local people come mostly during the week ends so it is more animated then. Staff is very kind and working hard. They have a bakery and good homemade wholebread....

This was a great place to stay on our way to Flores. It was relaxing and homey, with a great family style dinner where you get the opportunity to meet new people and have good conversations. The rooms were also great, the place is also very eco-friendly and good to support! The only thing I don't recommend is to try...

We stayed here is a stop over to cut the journey up to tikal. Only having one night here we made the most of our time by going on the cave tour. We had a great time and our guide was fab! The trek to the cave is beautiful but can get quite muddy. The cave itself was amazing with...

This was the seventh or eighth time I have stayed at Finca Ixobel on my visits to my church brothers and sisters in Poptun at the Iglesia de Cristo. I stayed the first three years in the Suite Venus, which is a roomy hacienda that will sleep at least three. I have also stayed in three other rooms, most recently...

If you are looking for European hotel standards you certainly will not share my enthusiasm. But if you are looking for a relaxing place with excellent mostly biologicolly homegrown food, nice porches where you can read in your hammock, meet special, interesting people then this is the right place. The finca is very authentic, being of age I felt the...
