The rooms are good, with comfortable beds and lockers available. The crowd here was lovely and socialising was facilitated by a nice common area. The 60Q a night includes a free breakfast (35Q worth!), so this really is a bargain. The breakfasts tasted awesome too! They organise tours and shuttles for great prices too. Overall, fantastic staff and facilities made...

This hostel is great value for money. Great central, but quiet location (except for the guy of the staff who was talking really loud at 6 a.m. every morning). Breakfast which was included was really tasty; you could choose from the menu. Friendly staff. We would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a budget option in Xela.

I stayed in the Black Cat for 2 weeks. It was lovely ! The stuff was very nice and the breakfast was tasty and big :-) I also went trekking with the tour agency that works with the hostel and it was a very good experience. Jose, the agency’s manager, was very cool and professional, he drove us to the...

Needed a place to stay before my family homestay begun for my Spanish classes. Comfy beds, WiFi, friendly staff, discounted breakfast, and nice common areas make the black cat a great place to stay in Xela. Great drink prices too! Check it out!

Black Cat was a solid, basic accomodation in Xela. The dorms were clean, it is well-located right off the main square, has a delicious free breakfast, and the wifi is fast. Additionally, the staff was friendly and helped us organize an inexpensive shuttle to Antigua. There's not much of an ambience though - this is more like a hotel than...

We stayed in an individual room with private bath. Good price quality rattio in general. Room a bit dark though and the bed had been placed very low close to the ground. Electrical shower perfect with plenty of hot water. They should have left one or two thick blanckets in the rooms as nights can be cold. We asked for...

I stayed here while doing several day climbs of nearby volcanoes. Good hostel, clean, but pretty noisy. Some of the staff were awesome but a few of the ladies who work there were rude. Overall, I would still stay again. They have a kitchen, but they don't let guests use it to cook for themselves. That is one improvement they...

Warm showers, good big breakfast, cool little courtyard with lots of plants. Possible to meet lots of interesting travelers. A bit noisy in the morning from lots of stuff going on but other than that it's a great experience.
