This was our Airbnb place in Xela and it was fantastic! Located just steps from the town square, it is easy to walk everywhere, yet it is pretty quiet with the double-pane windows closed at night. Could have been a little cleaner, but nothing serious. Communal kitchen and social area off the lovely lobby. Nice, accommodating staff, and small but...

The location is great if you like being in the center of town. It can be quite noisy on weekends though with the disco just down the street. The beds are very uncomfortable. Wifi was almost nonexistent. The staff was excellent though and very nice. Just for the price there has to be better options.

I stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed it. A cool old building with a nice inner courtyard and seating area. The check in was smooth. The young lady was very pleasant and helpful. The room had plenty of storage, comfortable bed and flat screen TV. The bathroom and shower were super clean and the WiFi worked well throughout...

Casa Dona Mercedes is a wonderful guesthouse located in an incredibly convenient part of Xela (just two short blocks from Parque Central and right next to a local minivan pickup/dropoff spot). The ground floor has three or four rooms what share restrooms (male and female separately with multiple sinks and toilets in each; one shower in the women's), which are...

This place was nothing to write home about, but it was clean, easy to get in and out with keys to the front and to our room, and was close enough to everything we needed to get to. We had minimal interaction with the staff, but it is worth noting that when we booked it said you could pay in...

This hotel was nice for our one night stay. The price was right, the inside was pleasantly furnished, room was big and comfortable. Our room was advertised as "soundproof," and street noise was indeed minimal. We could hear people moving about inside the hotel, and the doorbell ringing for people wanting to be let in after 9pm was a bit...

This was a very nice place to stay and we stayed three nights over the last New Year's holidays. The hotel has a great location and is very quiet. One thing that was strange is that we were the only ones staying there during the time period; we expected it to be packed over New Year's. We like things quiet,...

This nicely decorated hostal has a perfect location; large, clean and cozy rooms for a good price; and for me always the most important: friendly and helpfull staff. Would definetly recommend this place.

I was given a large, attractively furnished and economical room. However, like the interior of these old buildings, it was very dark. Even worse, a plug-in scented deodorizer elicited an allergy in me equivalent to a severe cold. I had this taken out, but still the affect persisted for days. I would return here, but would be sure to get...

For the cost, I would have rated Doña Mercedes five stars if not for the way they handled payment on a second visit. I was paying for the room and asked if it was better in dollars or quetzales. The woman working at the desk said quetzales only but that I could pay cash or credit card. I asked if...
